Over this past year i've made it my goal to accomplish as many of the things that i've been wanting to do for a long time (some of them a very long time) as i can. I love to make things and to learn new skills/crafts. I've done some basket weaving in the past but never made a pine needle basket. Picked up some Ponderosa pine needles while i was in Oregon a couple weeks ago and gave it a shot. I only had a small bag full plus i ran out of artificial sinew so it's a rather small basket, but now i can say I've done it.

It’s white oak. The few examples of these boxes I have seen have been in white oak.

Took me a minute to figure out what you ment. The licence plate on my car. Lol. Being a Ham radio operator the fcc and licence office allows me to put my call sign as my plate number. On top of that they only charge me 2 dollars a year for it. The personnalized plate that is. Most personnalized plates cost close to 80 bucks a year Ive been told. K1ING

A licence plate like that would cost a ridiculous amount over here.

A couple of bucks isn't bad, but here in Washington State I have better things to spend my money on----

Nothing wrong with having a little fun with your license plate number.

Years ago I inquired at the RMV about getting a 3 digit plate.
The woman laughed at me...Hahaha...You'll Never Get One...

    Ok....now Its On!!

Went and saw someone I knew at the RMV. She made a couple of phone calls.
I was told to go to Springfield right now and who to see.
I got there and was given the choice of 3 or 4.
Being thar my name is Pete and my wife's name is Peggy I took the one with the PE lettering.

Nowadays, they are next to impossible to get.
Every few years a couple come up for issue. You have to get in a lottery and win one.

It's a tad bit more money for this than for a regular plate, but being as rare as it is, I'll keep it forever.
Besides, if I give it up, I'd have to change my forum name.

While it might be a bit too long perhaps if you were to lose the plate and need to change your screen name you could take a cue for Prince and you could have this as a new screen name-------------

Thank Mike, I actually felt it more in eye strain. It's a good thing those trees don't grow around here because i don't need another hobby. (though i wouldn't mind trying it again someday on a larger scale, and it would turn out a little better since i now have experience).
