Dang Steve! That thing is sweet!!! I really like shaving with rattlers, have yet to shave with an 8/8 rattler but have a Remeau Sens 31/32 rattler that needs scales, will try it out at some point.
Anyway, no new work yet, today was the day until I was reminded of appointments..

BUT.... I caved in and purchased some broken blades for shorty projects. I know.. I know, I need to save money, but for less than $8 bucks I got 4 broken blades! lol Sounds bad right? Who actively searches out broken blades? hehehe
Well I know Outback will be happy to work on one! Hes a shorty master too

Do you see a Herdersori in your future Tom?

Thank you all for the good background info on the rattlers. In the meantime I have lightly cleaned up mine, honed and had a testshave with her this morning. It was a good shave but there was a little tugging on a small part of the blade, probably the part that doesn't touch the hone when laid down flat. The spine is straight but the blade is warped which was expected. And there is a crack in the scales so there is still some work to be done.

Did you take a bit off that heel, Tony?

Instead of straight-honing it, consider a slight swooping stroke to put a bit of smile back in. All the edge will hone much more evenly, I think.
(consider Steve and Karl's above ^!)
