Thanked: 4206Got the scales dialed in, brass wedge shaped and ready to repin this celebrated.
Going to try to go truly collarless on this one, like back in da day.
Need to carefully relieve the bone to give the peen somewhere to form.
And my rough finished results at the wedge end as I start to draw everything tighter.
And working the all important pivot end.
Won't be long now.

I've had my eye on this blade for the better part of last year, nobody seemed to want it, even with the cheap price tag it had. $10.
Its a Marples & Co.
From Sheffield. 6/8 at heal, 13/16 at toe
With a bit of spine wear, and a horrible frown, that will be turned upside down.
The scales are from another blade, and will need Straightend and shaped to better fit the blade. The pivot hole is still showing, from where they were origanally cut.
And the blade has been shortened from what I can tell. (Only 2 1/2" long now )
I couldn't help myself, seeing it sitting there all last year. I could hear it cry out to me. Save me Outback...!!
I promise to be an exceptional shaver... I swear [emoji56]
So lets get to work, n see what can be done to this butchered blade.
We'll start with the 400 Nani, and bread knife (high hone) this frown out and shape the blade. Then see if i need any stabilizer/heal work, and setting the bevel.

Thanked: 4206Done, 'cept for honing.
Was a fun, long, slow process. Started as a find in a bag in a hole in a wall in Old Toronto during a renovation with that wooden tang and sad condition.
After some discussions on here, and help from Tom, again!,, and a truly appreciated shipment of ivory and metal bits, the rebuild moved along with no real hiccups. The tea stain really helped shade the bone to match the ivory, and I hoped the gold plating would help the blade flow into the brass mid tang spine visually. The collarless pins and brass wedge turned out totally to my satisfaction as well.
I couldn't afford a missed swing on this peen job.
The ivory makers mark etch, resulting from a 500mw laser etching machine, completes the look and overall, the razor turned out as well as it looked in my mind when I started to plan this one out so many months back.
Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy the results.

Thanked: 4206Thanks gents. Will know for sure after the stones, but I hope this becomes one of my favorites. Found in Yorkdale area, forgotten for a hundred years maybe inside an old century wall. As close to a Canadian razor as I own. Really glad it came together so well.
Was a cool project."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
