Well, I guess it's time to pull out the extended cut trilogy of lord of the rings Mike. Grab a six pack of PBR and some 600 W/D and go to town.

Anyway to chuck that thing? Good thing you didn't send it to me!
TBH, I have spent a ton of time restoring and customizing vintage brushes, but the LEAST labor intensive brushes I have are from you!
Because YOU did all the work! Love all of them!
    Vintage/custom. Them brushes are nice!
    This thread is getting legendary!

I really want one of these rubberset brushes, but will never fork over what they want on Ebetterhavealotofmoney. Maybe, just maybe I might stumble upon one on my antiquing adventures.......

Or I might just make a replica......

After following this thread Harrywally, I've actually thought of making one of these little gems in my machine shop. Stainless steel???? Maybe Titanium for my new soap concoction????

There is a load of discoloration around the stamp , but hopefully not to much pitting.
Aluminium is a different alloy for sure, soft, and a pain to keep patina free. I'm thinking white tripoli on a soft cotton wheel would bring out the luster after the wet dry.
Blast away with the NevrDull on the bottom, Mike. Put some under your thumb and twist it about. Works well, FME.

Pretty cool how we all share our same means to the end!

I'm taking very accurate measurements on this one. Definitely going to try to make a clone. Probably not out of metal, but some really hard babinga or something.
Titanium would be cool if you bored out the middle. I presume these were all cast originally..
Checked on eBay for fun, yea a clone I make myself is more in my wheelhouse I think..

Very cool how the crafty guys share on this site. Funny how we all have a lot of the same items in our 'trusted time tested' categories. Just use them differently. Viva la difference!!

I just checked on the price where I purchase exotic metal and alloys..........Titanium rods----1" inch OD 6" inches long is over $60 bucks. If I do one for myself I would probably use stainless and hollow out the handle for weight reduction. I would also do a design change in that I would put a fine knurl on the end for better gripping to unscrew it.

Replica brushes are already available here:

    BSB SHAVING BRUSHES

Incidentally, when I've re-polished the originals I found that using the usual compounds on soft mops and with a light touch was OK.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Thanks for posting that. I was just trying to think of the name of those brushes as I thought they were interesting. The handles and the knots seem to be of high quality and anything I have read on them seems to indicate that too.
