Costa Rica doing it to Italy?!?!? 1-0 at the beginning of the 2nd and, oh my, Italy i̶s̶ ̶s̶t̶i̶n̶k̶i̶n̶'̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶j̶o̶i̶n̶t̶ ̶u̶p̶ are plodding and look to be without any answers. CR is working hard and playing with heart.
Lovin' CR's high line defense. Catching the mohawked-man all over the place. Up goes the flag
UPDATE: Ticos still owning! Back 5 are clicking on the high line D. Beautiful to watch.
Los Ticos OWNED! I can't see any team wanting to play CR in the next stage. Simply, WOW!Last edited by Siguy; 06-20-2014 at 05:53 PM. Reason: spelling...

Wow - France are on a tear tonight! I think they have got their mojo back.
Costa Rica were a joy to watch today, and I hope they go far in the tournament. I love it when an underdog comes in an does a job against a favourite.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

France over SUI was to be expected, but I'm amazed at the dominance. The opportunities created. Wow.
Along as France keeps everything off the field, off the field and their chances look good.

I was raised watching soccer in the 70's and 80's where most players had long hair and the only men wearing tattoos were sailors and criminals. These games show an array of tattoo art and tactical haircuts. They should have a trophy for it besides winning the world cup and golden ball!

Max, you should get a mohawk. lol
I was a little bored with Ecuador vs Honduras. Too many air balls for my taste. I prefer the ball to remain on the pitch and air it for crossing and shots on goal. As for France, lets see if they can keep the momentum and wow that was a tough boot to the face to Von Bergen. OUCH! Croatia was a good game to watch with the nail bitter goal.
I also got my Germany away jersey with Müller on it. Woohoo!

Iran defended brilliantly and even came close to scoring against a pretty mediocre Argentina today. And then came El Magico.. Invisible for 90 minutes, then a quick sidestep snd boom.

This is the football played in South America. When I housesit for a brother, it's 24/7 Gol TV which is round the world play. 'Lige, PSV, all South American leagues, etc. Quite educational. Raises my football IQ.
Oh, on Müller: I wonder how he is after that nasty end of game bang up. That looked bad.
You observations on the Iran match. What strong play!?! From Iran?!?! Wow.
Agreed. Ghana played all out challenge every German not matter who. A respecter of no persons. Us US fans like that. That's the way our team plays.
Buckle your seats, folks. USA v POR coming up next.Last edited by Siguy; 06-23-2014 at 01:27 PM.

Yeah, strong play indeed.
Football on the level Argentina can deliver is not something Iran is even close to ever producing.
Yet they stood against anything they threw at them for 90 minutes.
That is, given their material, very well done indeed.
Sure, it's not the most entertaining football to watch.
At all.
But kudos to them for sticking to their plan, and resisting what on paper is one of the very strongest attacks in football today.Bjoernar
