Yup, flint was seized in place, and wheel advancement tang was all messed up.
Little TLC, some mouse milk to get things moving again.

Same thing happened to my Queen Anne lighter. I took the whole thing apart and did what you did.

My skill is that I teach middle school and I have not gone insane. I always say that teaching is the hardest sales job in the world. I have to make the sale to 150 customers everyday, and none of them want the product. It doesnt help that I teach history. Some kids are totally turned off by the subject, but when its presented well....... I can win them over.

The teacher of today must be a salesperson of considerable skills not only of presentation but discipline. That since many students had not experienced it before and the powers that be have reduced its methods of application.

Having taught/reduced mayhem as a relief shop teacher in 2011,12 at a college; I found the cell phone habit has reduced the already poor quality of concentration for the 80's and 90's birth students. Too many, now, have had the cell phone or tablet as a pacifier instead of supervision when needed.

My undying respect goes to those who now teach!

The cell phone is a fight that is very difficult to win. I try and keep things lively enough that kids dont feel the desire to browse. History can be fun. The biggest battle is when you have to be upbeat and positive for your students when you really dont feel like it. The worst example for me, was the day my wife walked out on my kids and I, and I still had to go to school and "do the show".

Unless things have changed since my son graduated from High School (2011) the School District has forbidden the use of cell phones and other electronic gadgetry from being used while on school grounds. They may be used during lunch and of course after school.

The rule was; First offense, the gadget was taken and the student could retrieve it at the end of the day. Second offense a parent or guardian had to come in and retrieve it at the end of the day. Third offense the gadget was confiscated for the remainder of the school year.

These rules were clearly marked before the student started school.

I fully endorsed the above, in fact my son had to go to the second offense before he 'got it'. However I'll say this, he was busted the second time for using his cell phone while walking between class rooms as he thought that as long as he wasn't in class that he could use it.

they are not allowed in the classroom here, and on my location the workers must leave them in their trucks during working hours, at my wifes office they had to leave them in the desk drawer with the reception upon coming into work. once they started this program productivity went up and so did the percentages of clerical error I have a one and done on my locations, I to date have thrown 4 phones in the reserve pits Tc
