Oh, you could be right, I'm not afraid to admit that.
And while I'm posting in this thread, I might as well say that irregardless of what you think of Joel there are still a whole bunch of nice people over at B&B, and there is a lot of good content there as well. Sure it has it flaws, but overall it's (in my opinion) still a nice place. YMMV and all that of course

Thanked: 4I recall the post and iirc, that was his epiphany as to the nature of true sharpness. The DE cut so well, Joel had to revise what he considered to be 'sharp'. I have no doubt that he does a fine job honing his razors now.
But I also recall two posts not too far apart chronologically where he told one person that he still uses DE's from time to time, and told a different person he uses straights 'exclusively'. Too bad they weren't in the same thread.

+1 I think that exchanges that I have seen recently have been very unprofessional (on the part of Joel I might add). Much of the data in the recent exchange between Joel and RW on B&B has been deleted. However, the information that was presented by RW was a very professional statement of the facts. Joel's comments fell into the realm of an unsubstantiated rant. While he presented pictures, he would never state whether he had attempted to get any quality issues resolved.
Well, that's enough... no need to stir that pot again.

Thanked: 0I'm in 'Good' Company
I just finished reading this thread.... Wow!
I feel better knowing that I am in 'good' company, as a member of the 'Banned of Brothers Clan'.
I was kicked off the B&B forums after creating a second username (about the same time I did it here). Yes, it was against the rules, however, my banning came without warning.
I sent an e-mail to Joel, begging forgiveness, and expressing my desire to be re-instated (March 23). I have not received a reply.
Here at SRP, we had a short-lived, lively debate about my 'multiple personality disorder', and everything worked out thanks to the Moderators.
The only thing that I regret is that I cannot order the new B&B brush, however, I understand that there are problems with the first production run. Oh well...Last edited by Vardeman Sneed; 04-23-2008 at 01:02 AM.

Dude, if that's your only regret regarding being banned from B&B, I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep. I'll admit, my comment here stems from frustration, but I wrote off that B&B Essentials brush after I bought into the hype hook line and sinker and after months and months of nothing, I really don't know if it will ever materialize. Maybe it was too good to be true? It sounded like for the money it was (see, I'm even using past tense here and I'll stand by that) going to be the best brush in the world. Oh well, life goes on and SRP rocks!
