I am an English teacher in Poland at the moment. Not been at it long though as I have only just moved out there this year. I started as I needed a change from my hometown, which has very limited jobs in tourism and retirement - not my cup of tea really!

I'm a Test-Specialist mainly active in the software industry (professional software). At the moment I'm on an assignment for the railway company that has to do with planning.

Began life in Ohio, then I started working at 14 in my family's McDonald's franchise in Oklahoma, 13 years later, I moved to the Dallas area and continued in restaurants for a couple of years before moving into Outside Sales with a large independent coffee roaster. Then I followed an opportunity to another Outside Sales position with a Japanese manufacturer of Restaurant Refrigeration Equipment, where I have been for the last 5 years. Besides hobbies, I keep myself busy with a small Office Cleaning business that I started with my wife.

I love travelling, reading and learning new things. Keeps it fun.

P.S. Wirebeard - Years ago, I tried a blend of pipe tobacco with Latakia and Virginia that was great. Also, a Virginia and Louisiana Perique that was incredible. Perique burns a bit wet but the flavor is unique and wonderful.

After getting a seemingly disperate education (Economics and English lit. B.A.; English Lit. M.A.) I joined the Government doing project financial analysis for real property re-cap projects. I did that for two years before joining another Government department doing policy analysis and program delivery in the Human Resources field. I'm still at the policy analysis, and quite enjoying it at the moment.

In my spare time I woodwork, smoke far too many pipes for my fiancée's tastes, and attempt to carve smokable pipes. I picked up straight razor shaving hobby about two months ago, spending my free time at work on this forum and doing research before finally breaking down and buying a razor and strop this week.

Get ready for a big shock...I'm a forestry professor at Auburn University! I also spent 6 years as a research forester with the US Forest Service and am retired (5-years ago) from the US Army Reserves (23 years as an Engineer Officer, Finance Officer, Behavorial Science Specialist, and Combat Medic). Before going back to school for my PhD, I'd worked in landscaping, owned my own remodeling business, and did a short stint as a wine consultant.

I guess I get bored easily.

    Cheers,
    Ed
