    From the History of Hati.
On August 22, 1791, slaves in the northern region of the colony staged a revolt that began the Haitian Revolution. Tradition marks the beginning of the revolution at a vodou ceremony at Bois Caïman (Alligator Woods) near Cap-Français. The call to arms was issued by a Houngan (Vodou priest) named Dutty Boukman. Within hours, the northern plantations were in flames. The rebellion spread through the entire colony. Boukman was captured and executed, but the rebellion continued to spread rapidly.
I know where he got his information even if I do not agree how he used it. Honestly I think it harms our purpose to drudge up unproven reasons especially in things like this. The why is unimportant these people were in need of help before this earthquake and now their need is desperate. The opinion of the Left, Right or middle seems pretty useless in the face of this much destruction. The Church I belong to as well as friends of mine are involved in missions in Haiti and other places but right now it's Haiti that has everyone's attention. I know of one family that has had an on going mission there for 50 years and that's not because of Mr. Robertson. I also know that 2 of our Doctors are preparing an emergency medical mission and are trying desperately to locate medical supplies to leave ASAP.

If I could speak with Mr. Robertson I would like to know his point. The Haitian people are not singled out in God's word so why should we single out their history in the light of this situation? How does this serve to help with relief efforts? As I Christian it's my responsibility to be salt and light not poison and hammer. No the end does not justify the means and yes an open hand will draw more people than a clutched fist or a pointed finger in this case. Instead of focusing on who said what how about a little help with relief for these people. If not through a local ministry then how about the Red Cross? I heard they do not even have enough body bags for the dead let alone supplies to help those who survived.

weird, it was only a year ago that Pat Robertson fed half a million Haitians following a drought there and three hurricanes

At least he doesn't let Haiti's pact with Satan stop his charity arm from helping them out

Please don't put words into my mouth. You raised the First Amendment argument. I didn't. And as was pointed out to you elsewhere, there is no First Amendment issue in play, since there is no contemplated governmental action against Mr. Robertson. Nor would I advocate such. Pat Robertson and his group have the financial capability to operate a television program, and they are certainly entitled to say whatever they want to say on their program. But that doesn't mean he's immune to, or should be shielded from, responsive criticism, including being "called on the carpet" by folks like me when he makes idiotic, hurtful statements.

I had to check Wiki as i didn't know who mr. Robertson is. Yeah ok another again, we have these 'great minds' aka wackos of our own.

Every time i see their writings or hear these extremists speak in public, be it religious, political or whatever, i find it sort of funny to think if they really believe their own words or what is their motivation for hate speech.

The thing that makes it less funny is that there are consequences in what they do. It is sad that there are so many people taking their words for real.
It is a tragedy that some people really outsource their own ability to think to such extremists.

call-away, my friend. no one is stopping you. and if you're paying any attention to what is being said about Mr. Robertson generally, you will see he's being "called on the carpet" quite frequently at the moment. Maybe this will prompt him to resurrect his bid to become president...who knows...Pat in 2012? Yikes!!

Sailor: in case you didn't know-Pat Robertson previously ran for Pres. of the US back in 1988. He actually beat Geo. Bush senior in the (I believe) Iowa primary. Otherwise, he's generally an idiot...
