A gorilla force might be able to hold off Russia and America - but only because we don't fight wars of attrition anymore. Or because America or Russia was backing the gorilla's. If we went back to "kill them all and let god sort it out," no war fought by America would ever be lost.

If America ever imploded - many citizens would be killed - very possibly because they were shooting at the army. Who knows.
No wonder they didn't last! GORILLAS can't read ( at least that I', aware of) and the lack of an opposing thumb will cause issues with stuff made for human hands.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it appears guerrilla warfare is alive and well in the mid east.

    Yeah - I can't spell lol.

I wouldn't call what's going on in the mid east alive and well Wullie.

Remember too that in most cases of civil war today - everyone is playing by crazy rules. Rules that would never take place in America for years to come. Imposing no-fly zones, is a serious disadvantage.

Rules in warfare? What a concept. WE always play by the rules whilst the other does too? BS! The Geneva Convention rules were "sort of" adhered to by the Americans and Europeans but basically ignored by the Japanese in WWII.

Do you think that the swarthy sons of the desert give a rat's rear end about RULES? THE only rule they have is to do whatever it takes to be the last man standing.

David, you make some broad assumptions and I TRULY hope you are correct in saying that such things will never happen here.

All I have to say about that is that if the balloon goes up and society breaks down, there won't be any rules and if you expect to survive any length of time, you'd best be prepared to play dirty.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

Ok Wullie - you tell me who's going to come in and enforce a no fly zone in America if said balloon goes up in America? You convince me that America will let in peace keepers from another nation. Tell me, who's going to arm American Civilians with tanks, stinger missiles, and the like?

Moreover, even if America didn't fund it's military for years to come, any country seeking the wrath of America in a time of civil turmoil is taking a massive risk at facing annihilation. Those rules I spoke of - will all be thrown out of the window if America truly feels she's fighting for her life.

Hence, the thing you are preparing for in my opinion - will see your little pop-gun rendered useless by a tank or an Apache as you place it on the ground in surrender... if you are still alive.

I am sorry Wullie if what I say seems like broad assumptions. Seriously I am. I actually would like to think they are well thought out. It's kind of like building a bunker to survive a nuclear attack. Even if you did survive... is being a sardine and living in a tin can for ten years only to come out of it to a destroyed planet really worth it?

I don't care to debate if the US army will flatten your or anyone's behind were you to come at them with your gun. You feel free to live with your assumptions, and I'll live with mine.

One major flaw in the vid is that it claims Ozzies have a right to bare arms. I don't think that they ever had that right in their constitution. You can't loose a right you never had.

David, I don't assume anything. I've seen the worst side of things. I know what can happen. I've seen what our military was capable of in Viet Nam and I'm very well aware of the tremendous advancements with respect to the technology of rendering people incapable of processing oxygen that have evolved in the 40 years since that mess.

I also know that my "pop gun" is useless against a lot of things. However, it isn't totally useless unless I let it be. IF and I hope it NEVER happens, the time comes, they can have it when I'm done with it.

I expect the barrel will be hot when they pick it up.
