Hmm the GOOD guys had the BIG guns.

On a side note, it's a wonder none of the cops were killed by one of their own.

    2. Off duty police, at every school, perhaps not even visible, perhaps they sit in a back office watch video monitors all day, but they are there.. They can react much faster then anything else, just their pressence and perhaps their patrol car parked out front, is more of a deterrent to trouble then anything else...
Heck I hired off duty cops at every night club I ran for every busy night we had, it isn't hard to set up...
Huh ??? Looks like the NRA agrees with one of these with their press release today

South Africa is somewhat vilified as the old west in the USA. I don't think it is unwarranted though, when they need to pass laws like ... women need not stop in their vehicles even at stop signs ... for fear of rape.

Oh I get it, well yeah... If you don't trust the police and your government, then you should be armed.

I guess that is the root of it all isn't it? In a world of distrust, one must arm themselves and not only prepare for the worst - create it!

I suppose with that reasoning, all acts of terrorism are justifiable. Seriously! Bombing a federal building isn't an act of cowardice, its an act of nationalism as a citizen cry's out at the wrongs of a government.

I suppose that's why so many in the middle east legitimized 911. A mere act of patriotism by a people put down by the west. A government that surely is corrupt and impeding on their will.

I am not my brothers keeper, and therefore I shall not rally behind his will - I shall rather, look out for myself and trust no one. And when the time comes, rather than civil debate, I will seek death to those who have wronged me... who ever they shall be.

I am therefore an island. An island full of hope and dreams... unwilling and unable to seek consensus through words but rather demonstrate it through violence.

The world is my oyster and I shall want for nothing, for when another man has what I wish, perhaps through hard work or perhaps through corruption - I shall take that which is mine in spite of it all, and regard your life as useless were it to impede that of which I seek!

Bla, bla, bla... bla, bla, bla... Every man and woman has the right to own a gun in the US unless they have created an environment in which they no longer can own one. That should and will not be taken away.

Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla... No one should have the right to use that right to intimidate or force their will on another.

Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, ... finding comfort in owning a weapon to forsake the tyranny of another should be a last resort and not something thrown in the face of others to intimidate.

It simply breaks down our ability to trust and come to a thoughtful conclusion.

Wow - that little rant was fun lol! Allot of assumptions in that one Wullie - no need to point it out lol . I respect your Right to own a gun! I don't respect it as a tool to create fear or will. On that we surely should agree?

That's all to say the government is an extension of the people - when that breaks down having a gun only means more people are going to get killed.

If the Arab Spring(s) has taught us anything... it's that protesting is a great deal more effective and less bloody than civil wars.

I just heard that the NRA demands an armed guard in every single school in the nation.
Well, if that has to happen, they might as well say outright that the nation has failed when it comes to gun violence.
Because it would make the US the only country that needs armed guards in every single school in order to deal with the problem. If killing sprees become such a problem, posting armed guards at every single school is just fighting the symptoms instead of the disease.

I guess nobody read the link to the Toronto police helping the Arizona police and if they did, missed the irony in it. The people running the TRANSGENDER YouTube channel informed TO police of the girls intent and threats. This helped the Arizona PD intervene. Arizona, a state that is anti everything and so uptight they would have trouble passing gas helped by a transgender group from Kanucistan. You couldn't set out to write something that bizarre and humorous. Very hard to find humour in the gun debate but this sure is it.

"According to polling data released on Thursday by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, public attitudes about gun control have shifted only modestly since the Newtown shootings. “Currently, 49 percent say it is more important to control gun ownership, while 42 percent say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns,” the center said. Five months ago, opinion was almost evenly divided on these questions; four years ago, a majority said they favored stricter gun control."
