    Will likely be going on a 3 day hiking and camping trip into the Drakensberg in September with some mates over a long weekend.

    Haven't been to the Berg for couple of years and it's always good to get into the high mountains for some R & R.

    Your wish....

    This is from my last trip in April 2015 where I took my son with. We camped on the mountain for 4 days and hiked around 70km's.

    I've just had a look at the dates and it clashes with a trail run that I've already booked and paid for. So won't be going in September.

    Yes, that is some beautiful landscape. The ladder looks like it would be exciting.

    There actually is a second ladder just above that one which is shorter and not so vertical.

    I attended a multi-stage trail run this past weekend and the accommodation was in tents. Fortunately, I was upgraded to the canvas type, so we had a couple of proper beds in ours and we could actually stand up in it.

    There were 33 of the canvas type but probably 450 of the polyester type and also bring your own.

    I'm hoping to get a weekend wild camping over the summer. One of the benefits of Scotland.

    Aloha!

    I'm an avid Motorcycle Camper. Have been since 1995. There are many Forums for Moto-Camping. Motorcycle camping is, IMO, probably similar to what it must have been like to be camping as a cowboy on a horse. You are limited in what you can carry, even on a big bike, so packing and selecting small useful gear are essential. It's like backpack camping, but with three backpacks (if you have three hard luggage cases on your bike like I do).

    I don't Moto-Camp on Hawaii, only on the mainland. I have a home in Florda as well, so I keep my motorcycle there, and base my moto-camping on the mainland out of Florida. I've moto-camped about 35 of the mainland states so far. Some guys have camped all 50 on a motorcycle. Just go to Youtube and put in "Motorcycle Camping" and hundreds of Vlogs will come up for you to watch.

    A recent moto-camping trip;
