Lots of dolly and hammer restoration work there but happy it’s trued up.
Doing the front valence now as it needs to tie in to the wings.

As good as I could straighten things, I need fresh bumper connection corners really.

This will work well for connection purposes.
Can apply some solder to smooth things out and will all be behind bumpers anyway if there are any wonky edges.
But things are continuing to connect..

At least one anyway. Finding all kinds of odd little repairs tucked away
And also had to call it quits early after accidentally stepping on my grinder power cord and ripping it out of my hands while running.

Grinders can be rather vicious, that is a reminder mark of how brutal they can be. Sorry you got tapped.

+1 to that - I nearly removed a finger to one with a wood carving attachment earlier this year. Rotary power is nothing to take lightly. Good to see it doesn't look to have bitten too deeply, but man that's going to sting for a while.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    True that!
Cars been dinged, a lot, over her 70 years of existence.
I think that when the front end damage occurred way back when, it torqued everything, including the headlight mounts askew and buddy that owned her last was a big fan of braising.
Maybe the passenger wing will look nicer,, it’s the last panel, aside from the rear valance to repair before I get to the sand down and epoxy primer stage.
Oh yeah,, the gas tank will need some repairs too still since I’m restoring the original fuel tank sender unit as part of the job pile.

The pair, all ground down, look ready for some solvent wiping and hammer work now.

And true enough the passenger side faired better over the years.
Noticed the rear of the drivers side is missing a strip of steel based in its twin, so best replace that as well.

18 gage so it can take some heat as I blend it all in.
Too late to grind anymore tonight so guess weld work is quiet enough. And throws cool mad scientist shadows on the tarp in the dark. True to my avatar!
    Cheers gents. Coming along..

Funny, this project has reminded me of a guy I know who has an MG project but I couldn't remember what year. Ran into him today at the credit union. His is a '62, MGB I believe. Funny thing is he has been working on restoring it since 1973.
Looks like you're making better headway than him.

Been at it almost 50 years? Yup, my pace is a little quicker. Thanks covid!

Plus I’d forget,,everything,,, by then as well.
I’ve been at this restore almost a year now, and that seems too long too.
At least as per my wife it is.. hehe.
