The trick will be placing them so they don’t interfere with the drop down windshield when it gets installed later .
Or making them removable. Won’t decide till I get them in hand. Seen them mounted on the cowls as in that pic, and also mounted on the upper area of the face of the dash along the top.

With as much time and money that you have spent restoring your MG, you could have had this:

I think Johns post was meant tongue in cheek, and that is so very true Roy. I think Mike is in it for the learning and tinkering. I’m also glad to be watching from afar.

Those 30s cars look pretty cool too.
Not as many parts available, a really challenging restore those would be.
I figure the wife won’t let me do this again till I retire..

I was just poking at Mike! But Roy, it is true. That car when rebuilt, will be worth more than any amount of money that you could spend!

Looking at the going rate for nice TD’s in the States, I’m technically at a slight loss financially now, but,, it should re-appreciate more over the next few years, and hopefully the improvements made should entice younger drivers to still consider it, in time. Assuming I’d ever sell it, which at this point I cannot see.
But as Shaun, and Roy mentioned, this was a personal challenge and the work itself was the reward. Could I rebuild everything myself, and not just buy replica parts? Could I keep the essence of the original car, and yet eliminate all the annoying limitations?. Can I still paint a straight panel?

Still ain’t done so don’t know for sure I’ve succeeded but I’m optimistic I still can..

Putting some of the little details into place before the primer stage.
Got the piano hinge in so fabricating the lid for the tool box based on pictures I was able to find, complete with double hinge for entry from either side of the car.

Reminds me of an old ammo box personally, but pretty excited to have it reinstalled on the car. One of the nuances that helped make the car look so cool and it is period correct. .

Purchased new clasp and hasp. But I’m hoping to save the cars original clasps, if I can.
Will hold the Jack on one side, the tool roll, and trouble light on the other when completed, and painted..
