The newest member of the family. Buddy.
A Cocker Spaniel Sheltie cross. Guess that makes him a Shocker Spaniel.

Gabby, our mini poodle has been out of sorts for weeks since Pal passed. Buddy may fill the void. For us too. Time enough for one more life long friend.
    Cheers men.

Back in the mid 70's my wife brought home a German Shepard Cross. We named him Buddy. Buddy never grew to be anywhere near as big as an actual German Shepard but he did have the same markings and build--just a miniaturized version I would guess.

Well when he was about 6 months old I had to rename him. His new name was; Bud E. Weiser.

You see the wife and I were sitting out on the porch and I was enjoying an ice cold Budweiser Beer and Buddy snuck up and used his nose to bump my hand and the beer spilled all over.

Buddy then proceeded to lap it all up. After that if I wasn't careful that damn dog would either bump my hand or knock over a beer so he could lap it up!

    Damn I miss that dog!

In my experience, older males tend to be weather sucks. Every older dog we’ve ever had started to go inside in sub zero weather after around 12 years of age. If he’s getting to the door, it may be just that simple.
    YMMV. Hope your pups ok.
    Cheers.

Gabby is wonderful. Such a beautiful, expressive face. We've had several dogs who actively grieved the loss of their companion, and often looked for them in for months after their passing. Sometimes, my wife or children felt that I wanted another dog too soon, but I always told them it was not a replacement, as each one is an individual with their own personality and can never be replaced, but that we needed to therapy dog to help with the grieving. I think they also helped with the grieving of our remaining dog, also. I can't imagine a more gentler, affectionate combination than a Sheltie and a Cocker.

    Thanks!

My guys *loves* the cold. Not surprising as he's a Husky/Bernese/Shepherd mix. The downside is that makes him a professional-level shedder too.

I think he didn't even know he was doing it. He'd just be standing there and then suddenly let 'er rip, and usually nowhere near the door.

The very good news is that it's just plain old "getting old" incontinence. So he's getting "Proin" 2x/day and it's working perfectly so far. I really like my vet, but holy Hannah, are their drug prices ever nuts. I got the first month's supply from them for a cool $95 - about double what I can get online in Canada, and about triple what it would be in the US. I'm all for buying locally and supporting small businesses, etc., but that's a crazy difference.

But even if it had to be $95/month, it would be worth every penny for that old furball.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

After a week with us, Buddy has been welcomed by Gabby happy to say.
We all still miss, and probably always will, our cranky old Pally Boy, but Buddy brings a youthful energy back to the house.
