I’m 20 weeks old now, over 26 lbs, and still like to pee in the kitchen, when it occurs to me.
    Maybe I’m pretty, but dense.?

This past Monday, my good friend & I went to Hendricks Kennels in Katy, TX outside Houston to visit his 7 month old German Short Hair Pointer being trained & when we left there around 7:30 pm, we got about 1 1/4 miles away when we saw 3 little puppies in the middle of the road so someone had just dropped them off. About 1/4 mile more down the road is a stop sign & I remember seeing a car or truck taking off so it was probably them or someone right before them since they were still in the middle of the road. They were scared but I was able to get 2 of them in the back of my truck & the last one was so scared, it wouldn't come to us & went across a ditch so I hopped across the ditch which had water in it from the recent flood but it went into some brush that was over my knees. I was hoping there weren't no poisonous snakes in the brush but I heard the brush moving near me & I saw it was only about 2-3 feet away from me so I began spreading the brush until I spotted it & got it. We went back to the kennel & the owners brother Travis, said he couldn't take them due to liability reasons (Parvo & such) & we said we understand but he did loan me a pet crate to put them in & we put them on the back seat of my truck. He also gave me a bag of puppy food for them. I have them here at home & I took them to the vet the next day. They were treated for roundworms, hookworms & fleas plus got their Parvo/distemper shots since they said they appeared to be about 6 weeks old. She also said they might be a Lab/Pit mix. I had already decided to keep one of them because some of you know I lost my last best friend in February. It's really crazy because Cherino was also a Lab/Pit mix. I can't stand for someone to abuse animals & it would have been dark in another 30 minutes or so & who knows what would have happened to them. Now they follow me all around except when they're playing or sleeping.

That's such a great thing you did there Steve. Who knows what would have happened to those pups. It seems like one of them was destined for you.

You are a good man, Steve. They look like beautiful little pups. I'm looking forward to seeing at least one of them as they are growing up.

Mike : It must be a common thing. My daughter has two pups around the same age that love the kitchen floor.

Steve : Thank you for your act of kindness, Hat's off brother

    Musings from my dog!
6 months old, and 31 lbs of frisky. So much so I decided dry humping my older sister is more than just good exercise, it’s just good ole fun.
So why today do I feel like I’ve lost that loving feeling, and two small nuts at my south end?

Gil, our 18 month old 73 lb golden had his nether regions reduced two weeks ago. Amazingly, no cone of shame was required and he didn’t seem overly concerned or uncomfortable. Good drugs I guess.

Over the last couple of years my buddy Tobi (~9 year old shepherd-husky-Bernese (I think)) had really been slowing down. Little energy, changed gait with his head held low, and most troubling a very sore leg that just didn't seem to be able to recover. I put the former down to ageing since he's a 9-year-old big dog, and the latter to recurring injuries thanks to the incredibly icy winter we had.

And then on my vet's suggestion we did some blood work and he tested positive for Lyme disease. A month and one course of antibiotics later, he has a new lease on life. He has more energy, looks like his old self, and his limp is nearly gone. The limp is likely aided by the metacam he's taking now for arthritis, but overall I can't believe the difference and it's like he's rolled two years back.

Just wanted to mention that in case any of you have a four-legged friend who seems to be ageing suddenly or more than you'd expect. Might be worth checking out!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Glad Tobi is feeling himself again. Lyme disease,, good tip to have them checked!
18 months to wait for neutering, Gil's definitely fully male now for sure. Our vet said any time after 6 months was good. And according to something or other study wise, dogs neutered sooner get bigger than dogs neutered later, of the same breed etc. goes against what I thought would be the case, but it’s something I read, or heard at the vets..
I’m hoping he doesn’t get much bigger, but don’t care one way or the other. He’s got such a gentle temperament and spontaneously pees if scolded.
Got the potty training down and is on a mix of raw and good kibbble.
    Cheers..
