So after work yesterday I had a small adventure. March 12 was the day of the New York pipe show. The location though happened to be at one of the hotels surrounding the Newark airport in NJ. Just so happens I work near that airport and I had to have a look.
Unfortunately I was a little late to the game and didn't get there until about 4pm. half of the vendors and pipe collectors were already breaking camp and moving on. Still many pipes to be seen but most of them way to rich for my blood. I'm talking vintage Dunhills and other pedigree brands going from 500 bucks to sky is the limit. Saw a few pipes for around 5k I laughed to myself saying this better better be kissed by Angels and how can this block of wood be worth it. on the other side was a guy that had a hodge podge of basket pipes that looked like they were salvaged from the remnants of WW2. I unfortunately didn't have time to find any treasures as the vendors seemed to be packing it up. I consoled myself at the Cornell and Deihl table and bought a few tins going for the fair price of 9 bucks each. Didn't get a nice pipe but still happy.

Generally Aromatics and Virginia's and Virginia blends can get along . Latakia"s and any English blend with Latakia should stay in their family. I have one Latakia/English pipe and then my other 10 or so mix everything else as I mostly smoke Virginia's/Virginia blends and some aromatics

Finally got all 8 pounds hand pressed into jars. Also noticed after I took the photo that I labeled three as 9-13, not sure where that brain fart came from.

Smoking C & D Exclusive in a Castello KKKK Old Antiquari. The pipe in the photo was my last smoke Haunted Bookshop in. KKKK Castello Collection with briar stem extension.

Dug out a few old tins and they were all too dry to smoke. Discovered Macbaren tins seal a lot better. Had a bowl of Vanilla Cream in a cob on my drive.

Just finished some Tsuge Ryujin in a cob. It did deliver on it's promise to deliver the smoker to an alternate reality. This is the biggest nicotine hit I have encountered in pipe tobacco so far.

Sounds great if you want to try a nicotine bomb that is quite reminiscent of cigar tobacco. Try Samuel Gawith brown # 4 Kendall twist.
