Don't believe that a decent estate pipe isn't every bit as good as a new one. I don't own a single pipe that I bought new and every last one of them is a great smoker. It's all in the restoration. I've made many pre-1938 Kaywoodies smoke as good as they did day 1. If you'd like to learn to restore old nasty pipes into primo smokers PM me.

    Sunday morning
    I'll try another new tobacco:
    Patriot Flake
    DanPipe wrote at the website:

sweet-aromatic and spicy character, a composition of different Virginia grades of the "old and new world"

    Have a nice sunday

Nice Dunhill, Thomas! Could you give us few more pics.
I've always watched for Dunhill pipes, but never tried one.

Yes, you have enough experience in pipe restoring, but if it is the first pipe it could be a problem for the new user of a estate pipe.

    All we become older, Tomi.

Cleaning old rugged estate pipe is not a rocket science, but i think that new pipe smoker shouldn't start his journey by cleaning and reaming his new used pipe. Unless you find some that is already cleaned of course. Time for that might come later. That is why i suggest getting some low budget decent new pipe. Breaking in the pipe is not a big issue either, just smoke evenly without speeding, do not use heavy aromatics as your break in tobacco and let the pipe rest after you smoked it. Like a walk in a park.
Also remember that eBay sellers seem to think that some people are ready to pay idiotic prices for some old pipe (same goes with razors and so many other things as well).
