I don't know if I am interrupting the thread, but... I was wondering if there are any sure ways to Identify if a pipe in a photo is a Peterson. I am new to this as well, and ebay definitely calls when I am new at something, because you can usually find good prices there, if you look long enough. I have been looking for weeks and I found one I really like. The add says it is a Peterson, but I want to be sure before I spend my money on it that the lister was telling the truth. So anyway, long story shorter, Is there any marks that are common to Peterson pipes that I should look out for, short of the word peterson on the side or something. Thanks a lot, gentlemen.

On the Peterson pipes I have the word "Peterson" is stamped into the pipe. Also, on the metal band is K&P Peterson. Some pipes may have symbols on the metal band also. You can go to their website to find more info on this, specifically under the "Hallmarking" tab.

    This is the really point
In order to answer to a question about pipes it is much more better to get a picture.
Here are a lot of experts who have experiences with a lot of pipe-manufacturers. All they share their knowledge with you, if they get a good photography.
