Which one would be a good way with a decent tobacco? I really don't want to spend a $100 and a corn cob seems like buying off the dollar menu.
    Anyone have some good suggestions?

Oh and Night blade, your food choices look stellar my good man!
Think about King Gillette. Your pipe will be the cheapest thing!

A pipe is personal taste, but I have to say, don't think too lowly of the humble Cob. They are a great starter pipe and a great all round pipe in general. I've been swapping between a Peterson system and a MM Cob with the odd puff on a Pete Churchy for a change of pace.
Of the list you linked to, I would choose the 'Nording' as a first choice and the 'At the Show' as a second choice. Not for the tobacco's, or accessories, but just for the pipes. In reality, I would purchase everything as an individual item. Perhaps not as cheap, but then I would have everything to my taste in my outlay.

To be totally honest, I have a cob that my wife bought me and I also have MUCH more expensive pipes...the cob fits into the rotation with the others, at last count I was around 23 pipes or so...lol. A cob is a great way to start if you're not familiar with or sure you're gonna like pipe smoking, they're cheap and a great way to test the water so don't sluff them off as a "dollar menu pipe". And I have Nordings, Jeppesons, Ferndowns and Winslows....the corn cob falls right in line to give an enjoyable smoke

First off thanks for the compliment. Eating is something I'm good at heh heh. I agree with the others.Don't be hasty to spend on a starter kit. Get a cob (I have three in my rotation and they are good smokers.) Go down to your local and start sampling .If you have not a local tobacco store then start with aromatics and work your way up. A note on cob pipes. When breaking in your cob, smoke the first few bowls all the way down. This will ensure and even smoking pipe. Why ? I have no idea...just the way of cobs. Good luck and ask questions. We're here for you man.

Mixed review. The Frog Morton is sure different from what I have tried. Not bad but I don't know if it is for me. I kept some out for now and jarred about 2/3 of it to try later.

The Yellow Bole is a bust for me. Very wet. I think that the yellow lining holds the water in. Live and learn. I would never have thought of that when I started this experience. It won't get much if any use.

The snow is way south of me today and spacemonkeyjon it looks like you are just on the southern edge. I hope your travels are safe today.

I've almost finished that tin lol. Had it going today. Just thought uni flake would be a nice change of pace. I have a craving for a strong burley blend for some.reason. maybe I'll crack open the time of Jack knife plug I have and give it a go. That frog Morton is really good stuff on a cold day.

"The Doctor is in" looks like a good kit to begin with. Dr. Grabow are a budget based quality pipe and the choices of tobacco are pretty decent with that kit.

Very good advises you've had from many good people here up to now!!
My advise upon the Gift Sets you propose would be for a Cob and a Nording or a Stanwell. All of these are very good pipes and the tobacco with them are good too. The price for the Nording and the Stanwell Sets is very good too.
    Enjoy the new hobby Crusader!!!

@Crusader....Since you're new to this, here's a little pipe wisdom for you as you start your new Hobby. 1) Tobaccos leave their flavor if you will. When smoking out of one pipe it's best to dedicate that pipe to certain tobaccos . i.e. aromatics and or Virginias get along fine but, the minute you smoke anything with Latakia in it,that pipe becomes a dedicated latakia pipe. (which is why it's a good idea to start with a cob pipe. They are cheap and easily replaceable and they smoke cool and smooth right from the start. 2) Never break your pipe apart for cleaning until it it completely cooled down . 3) it's wise to leave a pipe cleaner in the pipe after cleaning to soak up any residual moisture thus keeping the pipe sweet and not sour. Sour pipe are a bear to bring back form the dead. (another good reason to start with a cob by the way) 4) Never smoke through the same pipe twice in a day,it needs time to dry out after a session. Good luck to you on your new journey end enjoy the smoke !
