Didn't get a chance to post my birthday pipe over the weekend but Sunday the 18th was a great day.

I started the day off with sg squadron leader and then at night ended it with sime sg full Virginia flake.

Headed out to the lanai for some Old Joe Krantz in a Butt Ugly No Name Rhodesian. Then I suppose it's time for bed, long day tomorrow.

I bought some Erinmore Mixture today, I have yet to try it out, but I'm looking forward to it. I will post an update as a proper PotD post soon. I asked at the local shop what was readily available as I mostly buy the BK Cherry Cav with very rare detours into other tobaccos from online shops. It seems all that is readily available is the BK line, Dr Pat, (limited) Amphora and Erinmore flake and Mixture. Not a huge selection by any means. At least I have been directed to an Australian online supplier that has a greater range of the imported higher end blends. I will be trying one or two from them down the track.

Size: 70.3 KB smoking on the Viking rustic quarter bent tonight. It's a simple pipe but it's definately an old friend smoker for sure.

    Sailor,

How many pipes do you take to sea with you? And with that being said... How long are you out at a time?

Thanks for asking! I have two pipes at work. Got them both cheaply at some estate auctions. They were both far beyond the point worth serious restoring. So those ugly warhammers are perfect partners at work where they are likely to take damage every now and then. As we are working (mostly) at the Baltic Sea only, we are usually about 5-15 days away (although it feels much longer)

I grew up on the Great lakes of Michigan and all though I'm no sailor, water still gets in your veins just the same.I miss seeing water on a regular basis. Cheers man !
