Pulled the trigger on a father day gift for myself.
Decided I kinda liked it in that grid of blue too. I already have a green automatic to match my mg in the Alpinist and you can’t beat the 80 hr reserve.
    Thanks phrank!

Absolutely solid decision, had mine just over a week and definitely hits way above its price point - love wearing it, sits so well on the wrist....can't go wrong with this reference, everything about it solid bullseye.

I'm trying desperately not to buy the green dial version as well....congrats man, great choice.

I'll post a wrist shot of mine later then! :-)

Don't get me started on Invicta.

The original company back in the 1850s made a great watch. (It was a Swiss Company). The current outfit a few years ago made some models that were Swiss Made and those like their Swiss Diver and the Rolex Daytona wannabe were both fantastic watches for the money and were a steal. I had both.

Otherwise their typical watches are assembled in Panama (as I recall) and have mostly Chinese Mvmts.

Size: 71.6 KB This is an old favorite, this is from when Invicta made nice watches. 91 grams of 18k and a nicely finished movement

Hmm, 91 grams, that's over 3 ounces of gold. Even at prices 20 years ago or more that would be around 3 grand wholesale price less 25% for the 18k. A watch with that much gold would sell for probably 6-7 grand back then. These days over 10 grand easy.

I know Invicta used to sell these jewel covered watches years ago on Shop NBC but they were stainless and they were around 3 grand as I recall.

That looks like the El Primero Chronomaster Open Grande Date Moon & SunPhase, looks like it's missing a small Chrono hand, very nice, Zenith is a superb watchmaker, you have plans to get that watched serviced and fixed up? Love it...

I'll edit this and add the pic of the new Tissot, chance to check out integrated bracelet, retro Genta vintage 70's look without Audemars Piguet prices.....lol!

Also should add, this watch is very similar to the 1970's Rolex Quartz models and even an old Tissot IIRC...so chicken and egg here, maybe BigSpendur knows which came first! lol

No I don't, however the Oysterquartz was an inhouse mvmt from what I've heard. I don't know much about Rolex honestly. Most other outfits used stock mvmts made by a multitude of manufacturers or maybe even Seiko Mvmts since they were the first with Quartz.

Yea that Zenith is a beauty alright. If it's sent back to Zenith for repair it will cost a king's ransom to fix. They won't just replace the hand they will require a complete overhaul. My educated guess is $1000 to $1500. Maybe an outfit like Govberg will do just the repair and that's a big maybe.

Yes, I figured that would be a major repair, but it's a great find of a magnificent timepiece, I'd have that sent to Zenith in a heartbeat....beautiful watch and Grizzley has a great eye.

I'm really enthused about vintage watches, just as I'm enthused about shaving with vintage razors.

It's fun to switch out and wear different ones every few days. This one is from 1953, one of the "script" Geneves made for a few years, up through about 1961 and not too often seen. This watch has the 30mm Omega 286 movement. In the later 1960s Omega began a different Geneve line.
