I enjoyed following Mikes MG rebuild and Gasman's Car refurb.

It would be fascinating to follow your watch build so if you have the time and inclination, I would love to watch you build a watch.

Gonna put the whore in horologist are ya Phrank.
I’ve looked at these kits online and was thinking it’d be a fun project one day.
Look forward to seeing the results.
Oh and I got my Tissot. Very nice band and size. Thanks for posting it up.

Mike - congratulations, it is truly a smokin' watch, been wearing mine to break it in, get comfortable with it, definitely a weekender watch as well, take if off Friday, slap it back on the wrist Monday morning and it's still ticking, great power reserve.

Water Resistant to 300ft, date, great mechanical movement, good finishing, this piece hits way above its class....its become one of my favourites on the wrist. A super nice watch, easily wearable, without the worry of getting mugged lol.

It looks great on your wrist, wear it in good health!

Watch kit is supposed to be here this Monday....I don't think it's worthy of it's own thread.

Went for the upgraded, "Pro Watch Toolkit", we'll see, I'll post pics of the kit when it arrives. Comes with a nice Seiko movement, so hopefully will be fun and a turn out a nice watch.

    Another wormhole to dive down.....lol!

Take it from me, if you be starting to get into watchmaking you will soon learn the limitations of your tools and want the Swiss Made ones and it starts getting pricey.

Timezone used to have a on-line watchmaking school. They may have it yet. It's a good way to learn.

In this day and age anyone living in an apartment can be a "Watch Manufacture". All you need are some artistic abilities and the boys in China will do the rest for you.

    Day before yesterday's choice actually.

Painting the newly installed replacement garage door.

You could be a watch nerd if you discover that Benjamin Moore Paints offers a color called "Beater Glycine 1960s Vietnam War Era Surplus Nylon Watch Strap Green." If you have 'em mix it up, buy it, and put it on the house ... well, then you're there ... watch nerd-dom!

Well the DIY Watch making kit arrived, very nice, going to use the code that came with the kit to log in and view the step-by-step video tutorials for this particular watch.

I'm thinking this is going to be fun, always great to generate a new interest.

    Pics or it didn't happen!

And when it's built, this should be the final result:

I like the idea of the watch kits but have an issue with the word build.

I don't think you are building the watch but asembling it. Sort of the thing that has kept me from building my own fishing pole.
There is the idea of assembling a combination 9 ft fly rod with a spinning reel seat.....

I am thinking of assembling rocket kits with my grandson. That would be a good start.

One time in junior high I built a rocket out of a toilet paper tube with a rolled paper nose cone and then using crepe paper for the recovery. The rest didn't think it would fly but it did!

Maybe a difference in symantics but my thoughts.

That is a super cool watch. Didn't have any idea that there was such a thing as a watch kit. I'd be interested in knowing how difficult it is to do. Keep us posted Phrank.

On a similar thought, how difficult is it to clean and lube a watch? I have a old Bulova that was my father in laws that i suspect just needs a good cleaning.
