I would bring the Kabar to a local knife- or toolmaker and have him reset bevel and edge with a grinder, then learn to keep it sharp with a stone.
PA knife laws are a bit tricky. Switchblades / automatically opening knives are absolutely prohibited, but then it looks as though on a case by case basis, the law determines whether what you're carrying has a "common lawful purpose". If they decide that it does, e.g you're carrying a 8" hunting knife while checking your traps, you're cool. If they decide there's no "common lawful purpose", e.g. you're carrying a 30" ninja sword through your neighborhood at night, then you may be charged with carrying a "prohibited offensive weapon" under the law.
That's just state law. There may be other county/municipal regulations that you need to be aware of. Best to check with your local PD or Sheriff's office to make sure!Last edited by HamburgO; 01-19-2012 at 07:27 PM.
