The main CCW. Glock 26, Colt defender, S&W 360 airweight in 357, Kimber pro covert, FNP 45. Yes even the 18 rd FNP gets carried occasionally.
Nice collection, brother! I know guys who would kill for that FNP, good thing I'm into 9's myself ;-)

The one gun I really hate in my own collection is the S&W 642 Airweight, but I make myself shoot it anyway, because it's practical to carry as backup, and you just never know. Even shooting it with regular .38 can be a pain, I stay away from .38 +P. Recently loaded and touched off a .357 by mistake - that was really no fun! I can't even imagine shooting a full drum of those things in that tiny package... Gimme my Model 66 any day of the week!

    HamburgO,
Consider carrying 38+P in your 642, for defensive purposes only. Practice with your .38 ball ammo. You will not notice the difference should you have to fire it during an assault; very few can recall the recoil. Point being, use the gun to it's full potential.

This particular round has stopped many aggressors, several in our city over the past 30 years.

Yea, those 4,000 round clips were rare, but the Cubans were nice...

A 1911 Navy Colt and/or a 38spl are good to go. The special spends most of it's time in the night stand... the colt travels often.

They carry well for me with an OWB and a good belt. That one usually is worn with my riggers belt. Holds it real well and close to the body. I don't even notice the weight with that set up. Plus no need to carry an extra mag!!! How does the 40 cycle?

with the 360 it took a long while to get used to it. The first time I shot it I used Silvertip 357! I literaly thought I broke my finger on the trigger guard! Wow that hurt. Now I'm used to it. Shoot it with gloves and only 6-12 rounds at a time and it will get easier. It's never one I want to shoot much but I'll take the trade off of Big power in a small frame for self defense. I'm actually trying to find a threaded barrel like the FNP tactical 45 so I can use my supressor on it. Only one I know of is from FN

[Total derail] Miller's Crossing is one of my favorite movies. It starts of so slow, but about 30 minutes into the film it suddenly becomes horribly exciting and doesn't stop. That scene is absolutely fantastic in spite of the seemingly unlimited volume of the drum mag. [/Total derail]

    Here's my daily carry selection.
It's not huge. An M&P 9c with remington golden saber (I plan on picking up some Hornady Critical Defense soon. The expansion on it is amazing). For holsters I have a Galco King Tuck which gets used most of the time. If I find myself in a situation where I can't carry in it I have a cheap Ace IWB holster that I used in a bag pocket to protect the trigger.
I keep my secret compartment book next to the bed at night.
I put a magnet and a small piece of steel in it so sometimes that goes in a bag instead.
The Pocket Bushman goes everywhere with me. It's a bit large but it fits comfortably in the pocket and the clip that sticks out is the same size as one on my 2.5" gerber.

That pistol with a suppressor and a Trijicon RMR 02 or 07 = tactical heaven! I understand the slide is pre-machined for adding an electronic sight?

A quick search on some other forums turns up these threaded barrels for the FNP : FNP & Five Seven Threaded

What's your suppressor? I got an AWC Abraxas for 9mm, very not happy with it, wish I'd gone with an AAC instead...

I really like that M&P. As a compact, I like it more than the Glock 26/27, just feels better in the hand.

Hornady CD is ok, I've carried that. In the same price range, Speer Gold Dot is an excellent choice. If you're interested in expansion, ballistic effect, etc., also take a look at Corbon DPX ammo - it's a little pricey, but IMO worth it.

I'll have to check out the Corbon. Their hunting ammo is my fave for the .41.
It was a tough choice between XDc, or the glock 26/27 but the safety on the XD ruled that out for me and then the ergonomics of the M&P won me over. Still thinking about a P3AT or a single stack 9 for pocket carry when the M&P OS too bulky.

The first rule about CCW is that you don't talk about it.

The second rule about CCW is that you don't talk about it.

Anybody what to guess what the third rule about CCW is?
