Default Old War Horse,, New Assignment.

My son has been using his own firearms since age 6 years. He is as picky with them as he is with what he eats. He likes his Colt 1911, Ruger BearCat .22 cal revolver & his 870 shotgun.

Finding a high caliber rifle that suits him has been difficult. So, I brought out this old war horse & let him put a couple boxes through it this past week. He's loves it,,,, it's now his. He has been told that it's not a weekly shooter due to it's age, but a box now & then is O.K..

I always keep up with the reading, not so much with the writing.

Those were fun to shoot.Back as early as the mid 1960s you could buy them direct from the NRA for $50.00.
last one I had (way back when) I converted to an M2 (full auto) I melted the barrel.

I've got fond memories of shooting with an M1 Carbine. It was what I learned to shoot with. Very reliable if taken care of.

Picked up a Windham Weaponry AR15 a little bit ago. I bought the sight ready model and put some pop-up sights on it. It's a fun weapon, though after the first hundred or so rounds the trigger started to get a bit sticky. So I'll break it down and polish it up here and there in hopes that the powder residue will find it harder to latch on.

If you haven't heard of them, think "Bush Master". I was told that when Bush Master was bought out the old crew opened up Windham Weaponry. So lots of know how and expertise there.

Just picked up the new Glock 43 9mm single stack and put trijicon combat night sights with orange front post and deep U notch back. After reliability testing will likely become my low threat off duty EDC. Thanks wife unit for the great birthday present!

Only concern is the lower round count of 6+1. But I will rely on the 3 feet, 3 seconds, 3 rounds per avg gunfight maxim and carry and extra mag JIC! Ha. I figure if I haven't solved the problem with that plus my Ruger LCP BUG I should have brought a rifle or shot gun in the first place. Ha.

    Stay safe all!

Sounds like a nice addition,,, a lot of people are getting them it seems,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

My 2 cents,,,,, rely on your environment awareness & shot placement,,,,,,,, it won't be your round count that keeps you alive

This is a link I have posted previously...an auction that was open and now closed. This is a new auction and for me is just a history lesson and brings me back in time to the beginning of my fascination with firearms. I've owned some nice ones. The only gun in the apt now is a Colt Model 1917 U.S Military .45 ACP. Sadly it was not to highly regarded as it was an under the seat handgun used by a Veterinarian to put down big animals.
Again, this is what happens when a wealthy man loves guns and they he passes. One of the ultimate Estate Sales: James D. Julia, Inc. -
