Not sure of the bullet weights but I use them in two different S&W revolvers, a 686 in 357 Mag and a 642 Airweight in 38 special and I've never had a problem.
Just call me Harold

Thanked: 45The internet is a funny place. If I look hard enough, it can find plenty of negative reviews on Ranger T's, Golden Saber, Gold Dots, HST...... You get the picture.
Best way to tell if they'll function in you weapon is to go shoot a few boxes, and enjoy doing it.

Thanked: 79Been out for a while, glad to see the old firearms thread still alive and kicking :-)
I have a sweet Smith & Wesson Mod. 66 from the 90's through which I have fired at least 100 rds. of the same Hornady ammo, intermittently with various .38 Spc. (usually about 3-4 six-packs of 38 followed by 1 or 2 six-packs of .357). Kicks like a mule, but never had a problem. Still keep my K-Frame and 3 speed-loaders full of it. If it ever jams up on me, I'm sure it'll make a great club!

Thanked: 12The problem is not limited to the Hornady ammunition, and is more of a firearm related problem. That ammo out of your big single action should be no problem. However, the 125 gr and lighter magnum ammo fired from some of the new Scandium framed revolvers has presented an issue. Because the lighter framed guns don't absorb the recoil of the magnum loads very well, they create bullet pull. The bullets are literately coming out of their cases to the point they cause the cylinder to lock up. Makes for an interesting day. Using something in the 147gr range seems to negate the problem. Personally, I've used the Hornaday Critical Duty, but out of my big N frame, 9mm, or .45, have never had an issue.
