Thanked: 983Not at all Carl. On the rare occassions I polish my boots (rare because the boots I feel the need to polish are hardly ever worn), I do just about the same as you. I don't use the neutral though. Black all over. My farm boots don't get polished. It would be a waste of good polish, best saved for my Johnny Rebs.

Any tips on a good pair of dress boots to wear with a suit? I'd prefer something with laces and around $200.

Shoes
Shoes, makes my razor hobby look timid lol.
Anywhere from Dr Martens for suit and tie to rockports to Ariat cowboy boots. Depends on the day and who I'm meeting with lol.
$200 is a decent shoe budget. I'd suggest the Dr Martens for comfort and style.
Casual I rock the Adidas shell toe mostly, but could be Crocs sneakers.
Running I like my Mizuno's.

I'm actually going out today to replace my Blundstone Chunk boots which, after six years of pretty much constant service, have finally packed it in. The best thing I can say about them is that I'm replacing them with... Blundstone Chunks.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I cut up some old strops and crazy glued them to my feet. It's gets a little chilly in the winter, but I save more on shoestrings than I do on cartridge razors.

Thanked: 1184My rotation is set up to minimize polishing, protect my feet, and always be appropriate.
dress Tony Lamma's and work in Dan Post.
I do take care of them and get them resoled when needed.
The only problem I ever had with sand in my shoes was once. I was riding my horse across a shallow part of a river when I felt my feet getting wet. Darn quick sand, horse sank to her belly and I stood there shin deep in water and sand with a horse between my legs..Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
