Just to update used the stehlo wed, thurs, fri... no touch ups yet.
today was a test day... the greaves has had another 60 laps on the krystolo, followed by 30 on linen, 100 on leather ( i actually counted today) shaved 2 passes on the right side of my face... getting a little better with the grip but it is still tight for my fingers.
the left side i did with a red imp #133 3 passes, also did the ATG on the right side with it as well, this razor does not count because i just honed it up with a shapton GS 2k, 3k, 4k, 6k, 8k progression and the usual 20/50 linen/ leather stropping.

Sunday morning. Received a razor in the mail yesterday. Had been bidding on it only because it had been made for a barber supply house that use to be where I live. Only has the name of the house and Germanyon it . And to my surprise (:-) sharped it up last nite. Finished it on the 'keen kutter barber hone' and had a nice shave this morning.
Razor: Germany; Soap: Nanny's Ice & Slice, nice soap, holds up well, good lather, slide feel; Brush: boar; AS: Lucky Tiger; Lotion: Nivea. Barber Hone: Keen Kutter.

Being right handed and shaving the right side of my face continues to be a chore. It really does take 2x as long as the left. Must be a left/right brain thing.(:-)

Monday, Monday..... If you haven't noticed I get bored with using the same set ups everyday. So... Dug into my bag of razors and came up with a No Name. No Country, No ID of any kind razor that I don't remember buying. But it looks like new with some electrical tape that's starting to peal off. Yes, honed it a little then went to the barber hone Keen Kutter and finished her off. Used it this morning. A few passes on the Keen 1st and some Omega Shave Soap. Kind of a nice soap. I like like the other Italian soft soaps, very almond. Droped my Alum so didn't have a piece big enough to use. Noxzema Plus Pre Shave. Lucky Tiger Tonic. Arko AS. For those who haven't tried it... Not bad fragrance just like their Shave sticks. Nice shave. No Name did ok. Not fantastic, I could have worked on it more. Already planning tomorrow. 2 new ones!!!!

Thanked: 114I’m always tinkering and today I decided to start over. I re-honed the Genco with my recently purchased Chosera 1K (I used my Norton 1K last time). Then followed by the Swaty, poly webbing, and unpasted leather. Another great shave. Fun stuff.
For the rest of the month, however, I plan to try my cushion strop barber hone instead of the Swaty.

Tuesday!! Fantastic shave. Received a eBay Knopp in the mail yesterday. Looked great, honed it , shave this AM. Used the Keen Kutter barber hone before I started. Sharp. Comfortable. Smooth. New favorite razor. Also used a new soap! Nanny's Spearmint and Cedar. Nice to shave with but a real surprise on wash up!! Menthol Rush. And it lasted!

Monday was a return to the Stehlo... another fine 3 pass shave slightest bit of tug on the ATG.
tuesday... i tested a Case red imp, the razor is not a looker the scales are warped and i had to take a hacksaw blade to the wedges so that the blade would close properly, there is the the remains of serious pitting on the back of the blade but it has been clean for a few years and a small nick.. 1k & 2k shapton and 550 laps on the Norton krystolo and the baby was mowing nicely Monday night. so today's shave was about perfect. no burn FSS! Almost wish that the razor was not on it's way to a new owner.
