    Some fun on this one

Had to go with 2 layers of tape to finally get it to hold a nice fine edge, I killed the edge 3 times at the 5k level then once again at the 10k level finally finished with my Nakayama

Red face Escher b/g "one stone hone"

A little indoor honing fun to beat the heat this weekend. Isn't it a shame we can't shed our winter weight as dogs do with their fur?

These razors were last finished on a Naniwa SS 12k, so I wanted to touch them up on the b/g Escher to compare edges (so long as my memory remains reliable; big question mark) following gssixgun's "one stone hone" Thuringian methods. Oddly enough, they were all by chance double-jimped blades which I tend to favor:

    • T-I 7/8 Oakwing half-hollow

    • Nichiri Yaichi 13/16 frameback Swedish steel

    • S.R. Droescher #81 11/16 full-hollow.

I love that razor, Phrankie needs and wants it...spectacular and rare blade, and unused as well.

I've been fortunate to come across a few myself that had never had a bevel set....gorgeous razor, I'll PM you my address....

One more vintage Sheffield chopper Phrankie, and I'm certain you will be in violation of the government quota on British steel.

Andrew you are so right a very rare blade, I've honed many razors for the owner of this one I'm looking forward to seeing his SOTD he usually posts on the UK ATG forum.

I'm honing this King razor and struggling a little with an even bevel.
