    Great, thanks!

    Just so I know for future touch ups:

    Did it sit fairly flat on the stone, and did it hone up without too much trouble?

    One layer of tape?

    Someone told me those stork scissors were used to cut an umbilical cord and given to the mother as a keepsake. Who knows?

    Bevel was set in less than 25 passes, progression went quickly. A sweet, rolling X stroke, from start to finish.

    Bevel is thin and even.

    Wished I had a set like that for my kids birth. Would have had an easier time with my pocket knife, over those plastic pieces of junk they gave me. Like hacking away at a piece of manila rope, with a butter knife. Just stupid.

    Absolutely beautiful. I bet the shave will be great too.
    What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

    Thank you too all of you for providing excellent advice on honing. I just completed my first full honing, from bevel setting to stropping on leather. The razor produced an excellent shave. In fact, I used it to take off most of my beard, although the goatee may end up going as well since I am not certain what I think of it yet. If it were not for the advice here on this thread and the site as a whole, it would have been a difficult task. It was far easier than I expected.

    Here's what I 'Primarily' use when I hone but of course not in the order of usage

    Left to Right;

    Norton 4/8
    Coticule/Blue
    Naniwa 1K
    That's a Zulu Grey on the bottom

    I basically use the Nani then the Norton and the Zulu on most razors however I like the edge that the Coti gives to Sheffield blades. I do have a 'Echter Thuri' that gives a nice edge to Sheffield Blades.

    But that pic is last year. A few more in the group now. Out of spaces for them.
