Thanked: 1160I am dead butt tired tonight....Ed, that must be some mining outfit, sounds like they feed you guys good. +1. As for the Stout oatmeal and oatmeal taking on flavors. My Scottish grandmother taught me how to make mince n tatties. which s mashed taters with a ground beef gravy sort of. It's ground minced browned beef with minced onions beef stock and some oatmeal for thickener. usually beans on toast went with all this also. Good Scottish homecooking made with love !

The food is a highlight, I have recently started Re-watching the prisoner (the patrick mcgoohan one) I think its because living on camp is Like living in the village. I should probably also start watching groundhog day, (would there be any irony and or comic value in watching it everyday?)
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

They're quite common, i think at least in Scandinavia, Baltic states (Est, Lit, Lat) and Poland. They come in so many variations. Regular chocolate is quite tasty here too, imho. There are several major brands and many small ones. But nothing beats local small places that make chocolate and other pastries (what do you call them? Chocolaterie? Confectionery? I have no idea.)
Now this doesn't have much anything to do with anything. Some 5 years ago we had a student from France staying here in our home and studying at the same high scholl class as my daughter. Melanie is the name. (and later our daughter spent few months in Normandie France).
Anyways. She obiously found one of the local chocolate brands something special. I've never seen anyone eating so much chocolate. It was awesome. Besides normal food, she ate these big choco bars, slabs or plates or whatever in the morning, during the day and in the evening. 5-6 plates/day was just a good starter. Few times i saw her sitting in her room, having these choco plates in her hands and staring at them. I bet she was talking to them too. My wife keeps still sending her some chocolate always before xmas.
This all leads to the eternal question. How the heck it's possible for these French ladies to eat so much without getting weight? It must secret skill of some kind. I know some people that should have learned the same skill.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
