I had two cups of Keemun after dinner this evening. This raises a question. I soak my tea in cold water for a couple of minutes, dump the water, then steep in hot water. I read that the pre-soak reduces the caffeine content. Is this true? Does anyone else do this?

I dont know about reducing the caffeine content, but certainly in some teas it help them to open up, increasing the flavor

I'm from a completely other camp of method. When I brew Keemun, add just before boiling water and brew for 2-3 min. Done.

Caffeine is highly water soluble, so a presoak would work. A Quick rinse in hot water perhaps, like puerh?

I guess the question arises..........how did the tea affect you after the soaks ?

No photo as I'm drinking tea at work lately. Had a few small pots (1 cup each) of white tea rolled in jasmine flowers. I need a bigger pot, I like glass as you can see when it's ready. After the second infusion I added some tea from T-Bar named 'Mortali-T' (Green Sencha, goji berries, lemon grass, pomegranate seeds, & cornflower blue blossoms.).

I am now stuck on Impra Ceylon loose leaf. It's pretty much the same tea I had from Itanbul and it's awesome.

Last night, enjoyed a raspberry and mint flavored Mate tea, with two or three small pieces of german rock sugar.

How do I add letters with accents? Mate should be Mat(accent)e.

    Thanks.

I fell asleep around the same time as normal, didn't seem to be a big difference.
