I certainly feel like a philistine compared to a friend of mine. He drinks tea from one side of a particular hill in china that's been slightly oxidized, lightly smoked over a particular kind of wood and then buried for ten years or something. Also compared to the vietnamese takeout people. I asked where the tea they gave me was from expecting them to say the asian food shop or something, but the lady said you go to Saigon and head north on the bus for about seven hours, then turn right for half an hour and that's where the farm is. I like Yorkshire tea because it's quite strong and I'm from Yorkshire.

When I started this thread ,it was because I love tea and everything associated with it. The teapots, the cups and glasses, various things eaten with tea, the different ethnic perspectives on tea cultures,....everything. This wasn't meant to be pretentious . It's for a gathering of tea lovers haught and simple. Don't be intimidated about showing off even your most common tea and kit here but just know that it's more than showing off goods. It's about helping contribute any and all knowledge visual ,verbal and otherwise about tea and tea drinking. look at some of the earlier post here and you'll get it. You are most welcome here at this little mad tea party heh heh .

This was the best film I could find on Youtube about making Mongolian milk tea. It's in Spanish
What you don't see is them adding salt. Probably done in the milky water to begin with.

So is this stuff pretty salty then. I have had tea with milk before but salt is foreign to me in tea so I'm having a hard time imagining it ?
