On my way to work the other morning this song came on the radio.

Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Lariat (Lyric Video) - YouTube

Not my favorite song but the lyrics caught my imagination.

"We lived on Tennyson and venison and The Grateful Dead."

So here is tonight's dinner. Venison with radishes and onions. Some Quinoa on the side.

A little more music and then off to do some reading!

Was it Steph who asked about pics how military dinners look like around the world? Here's just a typical navy dinner i had at work few days ago.

Sauteed reindeer, meetwurst, mashed potatoes, lingonberries, gherkins. Hard rye bread with edam. House wine aka blackcurrant juice. Just a cell phone pic.

Possibly, but I don't even remember now. Looks damn good though. Which reminds me. I just bought some Lingonberry jam at the Russian market recently. Very very good. it was actullay made in Austria.

A new rib recipe with baked potato. Very different but very good from what is usual around here. As you can tell I like black pepper!

You call that pepper? I would use 5 times that much.My old Uke grandfather always said, use lots of pepper and you will never get sick.
He died at 92, got hit by a car in a crosswalknever sick a day in his life.
At the age of 66 I have never had the flu, maybe two colds in my entire life, next time I make Borsht,I will show you pepper to the max
