There are some fantastic looking exclusives at the airport.
Cask strength uigeadail and corryvreckan. Some exclusive laphroaigs and highland parks. First fill glenlivet nadurra.
Think I'll try and grab something on the way home!

Thanked: 36Laphroaig PX cask is worth a go and I think that's an airport exclusive.
I'm having a drop of Bunnahabhain 12 tonight. Review's almost done. I ordered a glen cairn with the bunnahabhain logo for a picture (and because need another glen cairn) but I only just got the card saying it's arrived at the post office. It's very nice. Thinking I might try one of their other expressions soon.

we had the pleasure of selecting this beautiful new edition of the Guardians edition The Glenlivet last year at the Whisky live event in the Hague. Along with the guardians around the world of course now it's available in stores for everybody to enjoy

Thanked: 36Having a drop of Cragganmore 12 right now. I've had a bit of a busy week, but my bunnahabhain 12 review is finally done. It looks like I have a really big glass, but really it's a small bottle.

Thanked: 6How did you find the Cragganmore? I have that same bottle, and to be honest, it is one of my least favorites. I don't know what it is. Just can't get into it. I keep going back to it trying to figure it out, and come away each time just not enjoying it as much as others. Sometimes tastes almost like white wine or something.
Anyway, Compass Box Spice Tree right now. Really nice stuff.

Thanked: 36Yeh, my first thought was "hey, this smells like white wine." It's ok, but there doesn't seem to be a lot to it. The smell's interestingly floral with fruity bits and something like boiled sweets and is quite complex, but after that you get a bit of sweetness, a kind bit of woody bitterness and maybe a touch of liquorice and then it's the end. I've been sipping it for a couple of days expecting to taste something else but not finding it. I'll do a full review in a few days, but I totally agree with you so far. I'm enjoying it, but I won't miss it when its gone.

Just tried the Woodford reserve double oaked,
seems lighter and in a few aspects les complex for it,
it does loose some of the spice/pepper bite on the back of the pallet but I don't think this is one I will restock.
Pics later on request if anyone cares to see the label/bottle.

FINALLY!!!!
After many misfires, I finally have a bottle of Balcones Single Malt! I just opened it up, and I have to say it deserves all the cudos.
I initially sampled a dram without a dash of water, and was immediately struck by its legs...for a moment, I thought that it might climb out of the rocks glass. The color is a lovely deep reddish amber. The nose is...fruity! On the tongue, it's mellow, rich, and complex...no peat, of course, and not much smoke. The finish is nice and long, with caramel/toffee notes, and a surprisingly gentle alcohol tingle. I then tried another dram with water, and while it opened up the nose a bit, I don't think that this malt benefits as much from water like so many others do.
This was absolutely worth the wait!
