Having some celebratory Laphroaig Quarter Cask, celebrating being done with law school - I walk on Saturday! Man, I love the Islay single malts, I just can't get enough of that smoke. This bottle has less of the smokey flavor and smell than the Laphroaig 10, but still just an excellent scotch! Cheers!

Thanked: 36My assessment would be that they're as smokey, but the ten year old is kind of drier so you really notice the smokiness. The quarter cask I find to be slightly sweeter with other flavours in the mix more prominently which I think kind of masks the smokiness a little. I haven't tried them both side by side though, that would be a very enjoyable experiment.
