It's definitely nice. I believe I'll have some right now.

Having some celebratory Laphroaig Quarter Cask, celebrating being done with law school - I walk on Saturday! Man, I love the Islay single malts, I just can't get enough of that smoke. This bottle has less of the smokey flavor and smell than the Laphroaig 10, but still just an excellent scotch! Cheers!

Really? It's been so long since I tasted the Laphroaig 10, and as I remember the Quarter Cask is more smokey than the 10. Perhaps I should give the Laphroaig 10 another try.

My assessment would be that they're as smokey, but the ten year old is kind of drier so you really notice the smokiness. The quarter cask I find to be slightly sweeter with other flavours in the mix more prominently which I think kind of masks the smokiness a little. I haven't tried them both side by side though, that would be a very enjoyable experiment.

    It's the weekend, right?
Tonight's dram is Cutty Sark Prohibition.
