I personally don't have the knowledge on the subject of Filarmonica to determine if either party is off on their facts.

    But,,,,

Richmondesi,, Robin stepped into the thread
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/brush...h-100-a-3.html

in a manner that puts his interpersonal skills at question & there are still members waiting for him to substantiate some of the claims in that thread. I've never met Robin or worked with him on SRP, but I did give him the benefit of the doubt on the brush thread linked above & visited his "Homepage" that he has linked under his SRP name. After reading for quite a while, I stick with my above assessment of him.

Robin's work on SRP has not gone unnoticed by members here, who are trying to follow in his footsteps to maintain the quality of this site. SRP has maintained it's status at the top, AFAIC, because of it's foundation being based on facts & the administration's resolve to keep it that way, by holding it's members accountable for their words.

Ok. I just wanted to provide some additional perspective for those who don't know him and see someone with 30 posts (at the time of this post) and wonder who he is to act like he knows anything. All too often in forums post count (or lack thereof) is often associated with knowledge. I notice that became an issue in the thread you linked. While I'm not sure which assertions you're waiting on him to substantiate, without knowing him personally I could come up with 2 really strong candidates for well known, reputable manufacturers who provided the information he cited. But that's a discussion for another thread. The personal attacks really don't make a lot of sense, and come to think of it, neither do defenses. Enjoy your Filarmonica discussion Gents. I'm going back out and drink some more coffee. Have a great evening

Just to lighten the tone I'd thought I'd share my stable.

All are great shavers. The #10 was a pain to hone but after a few arguments and tantrums I got her shaving nicely! The #14 doble temple and medallion tauring are sello oro but are fantastic razors and I cant fault them. The barbas duras was NOS in the bag but when I opened it there was a few rust spots. Not brave enough to too much work on them because I dont want to ruin the etching. Finally the corte del cablo is a fine shaver even if it was ment to cut hair.

My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

    But, really missing people?

Now they say… that one guy, Hoffa he was a bit of a pain, but they say a lot of other people had a problem with Jimmy… also.

Took a chance on this 6/8 Filarmonica EBPD for a very low cost, figured it was worth the gamble, and thanks to Valery at The Gentleman's Den, looks like it paid off.

This one should clean pretty good. I was able to get this puppy from a Spanish forum at a great.price compared to what they sell on flea bay. By the way any suggestions to restore the writing on the scales.

Great score - I scored several from that eBay site, stellar prices, and the blades, once cleaned up, had little if any hone wear, your's looks the same, my Filarmonica's days are done thanks to that site.

    Congrats.

Another filarmonica this one was a leap of faith. I was already in deep when I noticed what I suspected to be heat damage. I won the bidding war at only $120, but I was feeling uneasy. I get the mail today and see the blade with my own eyes, a lot dirtier and muckier than in the every pictures and I proceed to wash it with soap before I try honing or cleaning Abby further. What a relief I was able to wash away what looked like a heat damage, as it turns out it was sone type of oil. There was sine staining as well, but mainly on the spine bear the tang, which I am cleaning with 800 grit paper.
