Looking Good Mike!
I like the 'gentle' approach/ Well crumpled newspaper is even 'milder' than the green scrubbies.
I know that this probably not at the top of your priority list, but in your original pics there seems to be a name scratched into the scales. if so can you make out what it is? Just wonderingOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Tom, I 'think' that the little one is the same style of 'frameback' as the W&B that will be put on display along with your strop. By that I mean that it is indeed a 'two part' blade and just like the W&B it has a solid blade that includes the shank but has a 'Cap' that attaches to the blade/thus a 'frameback'.
When I started this project and I sent the bare blade to Glen to put period correct scales on it I had referred to it as a 'Faux Frameback' and Glen told me that it wasn't a Faux Frameback but a 'True Frameback'.
I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again maybe I'm wrong hereOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4206Yes the small one is just as you describe, one piece steel blade with a brass cap wrapped around it. From the end you can clearly see it as such.

Well, I was admonished by Manah long ago about framebacks. According to him, Mike's new acquisition is a frameback and his older one is a faux-frameback. The reason for this is that the 'back' of the 1st one IS the frame. The back of the second was added to act as the spine, yet is NOT the frame of the razor. Therefore, 'faux'. Then, we have all the trues, halfs, simulated, and undulating framebacks. Not to mention the wannabe-framebacks. Tons of threads about this. No one can say anyone is right or wrong because everyone thinks different.
The new razor that Mike picked up has a lot more heft. I would bet he will like it better."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 4206First shave with it this morning after cleaning her up and running through the progressions.
Damn fine shave. Took an edge very well and shaved with very little "song" which surprised me being so thin a blade. But I do quite like it. Not a smiling blade, but a definate curve to the profile which was predictable in its movements across the jaw line.
Saved the original scales, and added it to my rotation with pleasure.
Thanks for the tips and history on this fine Frameback gents.."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
