I have a couple of these blades in my very small collection. In my limited, newbie experience, they seem to be terrific. I like 'em a lot.

Thanked: 13245Another Named Shumate
So this is #11 for my collection of Shumate razors and it just seemed to fall into my hands
St Loius, made Shumate "Senator"
Needed a little polishing and a honing but nothing else, all factory pins and scales...

A "numbered" Shumate recovery
Not competing with Glen, but coincidentally I got this one finished up this weekend. I still need to develop my polishing patience, but I really didn't want to take out the engraving.
I am happy with the Walnut scales and CA finish.

'Very nice.
I also like the look of the shoulderless. With the exception of one recent new production blade, they've also been great performers. I suspect this is mere coincidence, but most shoulderless blades I've used have shaved beautifully as well.

Thanked: 1
My first and only straight, got it off eBay and don't really know anything about it. The box says Shumate Razor St. Louis, MO and Shumate Tungsteel, but what I can make out of the etching on the Razor says New York. Don't know if it was just put into the wrong box or if there is some other explanation. It seems to shave pretty well in my uneducated opinion.

Thanked: 13245Can we see a pic of the front side of the razor on the tang, I have only seen TX and MO Shumates so I am betting a mis-matched box and razor but one thing I have learned with this hobby is never say never

Thanked: 1best I could do...
Thats about the best I could do, on closer inspection I can make out a "TRIC" above where it says "New York", the etching is very shallow, but I am thinking maybe Electric Cutlery? That's about the only one i've been able to find that has those letters in the name, and they were out of NJ from what I can gather.
