Tom,
So, that's the razor that killed BL, LOL?
Nice combo Lars. How do you like the IK balm?
Haaaaaa. That was just too funny José, LOOOOOOOOOOOL. I loved it. It made my day buddy. Thank you for the thorough comparison my friend. Now the 17 is already a 7/8". Is the 17 1/2 8/8"?
Nice Imp Mikael. Nice "Red" scales too. How do you like the Provence Sante soap?
Hi Birnando,
It is a great feeling when you find that sweet spot in honing. Congrats buddy. I am still trying to reach that with my Shapton Pros, but one day. Honing is very therapeutic...as long as one doesn't have to do it en masse, LOL!!
Otto,
That's a nice looking blade I haven't seen featured before (I think). New acquisition?
Sounds like you will have some unpleasant work week ahead of you. It'll be over soon enough. Hang in there. And nice picture (whatever the reason, LOL)
What a nice combination Bill. Love your Maxterpiece
Glenn,
Beautiful Wosty. I love my Pipe too...and I don't even smoke, LOL
Rene,
Right on the money with your guesses my friend. I am impressed. That's exactly right.
#1 was done on Coticule
#2 was done on Shapton Pros
#3 was done on JNat w/ Atoma slurry
Thanks for doing this experiment buddy and confirming my hunches.Last edited by BladeRunner001; 05-02-2011 at 01:35 PM.

No, Robert!
The razor is only for shaving my face.
And I don't pay for the bullet that killed BL. Nobody asked me to fund some ammunition for the SEALS.
But if they would need some ammunition- I'll send them a ton.
BTW:
As you know-my son was as an exchange student in CA (2001-2002). The first picture we got from him was my son-surroundet by a group of US-Marines/ Recon/ maybe NAVY-SEALS. And he hold a M16 in his arms. And I was very proud about this picture.
I love the SEALS and the Marines of course.
We have a lot of friends who are or were US-Marines.
Semper Fi friends!
(Sorry about the quality of this picture. It was in 2001 taken with an old camera by my son's host- grandma. But thousend thanks to Carol for taking this picture!)Last edited by eTom; 05-02-2011 at 02:06 PM.

Week of May 1 SOTD - Monday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger Razor: 7/8" Novelty "1879", Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point Strop: no stropping...0/0 laps (Torolf linen/Premium IV leather) Überlather: Martin de Candre Savon à raser Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue After Shave Balm: eShave "Almond" AS Balm Results: Terrific shave with a terrific razor (I am thinking about rescaling this one). I took this beauty to the Shapton Pros yesterday afternoon. The final polish/finish with the Shapton 12K left an amazingly mirrored finish on the bevel. Under 30X, I could almost see my reflection in it . I did not strop this blade and I was real happy with the edge...I mean, REALLY Happy !!!! I think I am somewhat getting the hang of the Shapton Pros...I find the results from it (in my hands) to be very much blade dependent, but the ones that agree with it, get real sharp and ultra smooth. As for the lather, the MdC soap was a delight as always. Super slick with tons of cushion and no drying . I am ready to get this Monday started. It's going to be a very interesting week.
******************************
Have a MARVELOUS Monday gentlemen . Great start to this week already.

Great picture Tom...Your son looks happy
David
That's (literally) a Vision-ary shave. Well done.
Beautiful Waterville Mark
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Bill: my wife loved this post. She thinks I need a 12-step program. But, those don't help. I have gone off the deep end. There's no hope. But Max knows, that I am going for #20, LOL
Seriously though: This blade has been on the books for a rescale for some time now. The pivot is a bit loose and I can't tighten it more (tiny crack at the pivot on the scales). It is real hard and dangerous stropping her. She almost flew out of my hands stropping this AM. If she goes for a rescale, I may even do the Wacker "Wickinger" too. That one is in Cherry wood, whose design I don't like too much. I will pick Max' brains soon for options. Wood may be nice for these two, but I'll see what he suggestsLast edited by BladeRunner001; 05-02-2011 at 03:34 PM.

I vote for a rescale of that Wacker also, don't worry about my opinion tho, I'm just pouring more fuel on the fire...
