    Good evening friends!

    Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Custom 28mm silvertip in wood and horn
    Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood
    Scuttle: Robert Becker extra large
Razor: Bengall Cast Steel, 7/8 smiling wedge
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Sandalwood home made splash
Notes: 2 nice relaxing passes to a perfect BBS, but my angle was a little off for a second and I got a couple small patches of razor burn. That's not been much of a problem for me before, but I've improved my honing quite a bit and I've noticed it occure at times with the sharpest of my razors. Guess I need to work on a lighter touch. Anyways, not a big problem. Lovely suds tonight, the brush whipped up some lovely lather, and to finish it off a hearty splash of sandalwood. A great finish.

Well done on the BBS, it does take a little while to get there. I find that at times, you do take a step backwards, though. What I mean is, when you reach BBS it's not like every shave thereafter is BBS...
Thank you Carl, I like the razor a lot. Unfortunately, you are correct about the next shave. Today's shave had more bad points than good. The only good point was that it was my first go at Top Secret shave cream, which was very nice. Thanks for the recommendation, and thank you ThePortugalShopOnline for the fast international shipping.

No point in commemorating this disappointing shave with details...

    Thursday

A day off work today, I was supposed to take Bailey to hospital, but an emergency visit the other night means I don’t need to. There was no huge drama, his ‘port’ tube was broken, but it did mean a 50k trip to hospital and 50ks back. So I decided to take the day off anyway and be a productive ‘man about the house’ (or at least try to emulate one). I tackled the back lawn with the ‘whipper snipper’ (‘weed whacker’, or whatever else it may be called) as the lawn mower was broken (I generally break lawn mowers at a rate of several per season).

Being stupidly hot (only considering it’s mid April, not by my general standards) at 33 degrees C, I’m now exhausted after three hours of work and enjoying a ‘shandy’ (beer and lemonade) after my early afternoon shave.

Oh, BTW, I’ve decided not to keep shaving my head. SWMBO says it makes me look older, and we can’t have THAT, can we?

    Razor: Burrell Top Flight
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Cream: Faulding’s ‘Shave’/Proraso/Glycerine Überlather
    After Shave: Lavanda cologne

Oh, that's no good! What went wrong? Angles? Lack of concentration? I really think the Top Secret cream is as good as any I've tried, but it's priced like a 'cheap' cream...
