All Old Spice Day!!
Prep: Hot Shower Razor: 9/16 'Thursday' Union Cutlery Spike from my 7 day set Hones: This Spike got the full honing treatment last night, 100 felt, 300 leather Brush: Tweezerman Badger brush, perfect for Old Spice vintage soap Uber: Vintage Old Spice in original mug AS: Alum + Vintage Old Spice Edc: None, didn't want to cover the scent of the vintage old spice AS Result: I had forgotten how smooth these little wedges can be. After a full honing before bed and a couple extra laps on the leather this morning, this Spike delivers! I did manage to cut my thumb on the heel as I was opening it to strop. It just slid right up the tang and impaled itself on the heel. Bled like the dickens. Once I got that under control I did a few more laps on the strop, showered and proceeded to get a nice smooth DFS. The feedback on these blades is almost nothing, and you have to listen closely to determine when it is happiest. I can't wait to get out my Friday blade now. I think I will use the whole set for the next week and make sure they all shave as good as this one!
Enjoy Thursday Mates!

Thanked: 17Nice Spike Mike.
I took another new to me blade for a spin this morning and it is a keeper, nice and smooth.
A few laps on the 8000/4000 Norton, 10 passes on the pressed felt CrOx, 20 on felt and 40 on leather got this 92 Norton is ready to go.
Prep: hot shower
Soap: Razorock lemon
Razor: Norton 92 Solingen silver steel 6/8ths
Post: styptic, razorock alum, thayers lemon and a splash of Dominican BayRum
The shave was great, comfortable easy blade and a good lather. Still having a few trouble spots but a little over a year in and I figure a little patience and it will work out eventually.
Happy Zombie Jesus weekend all! I'm goin' skiing!
