Thanked: 0Feather AC SS, folding handle. Very forgiving, very easy to get a close, irritation-free shave.
I was apprehensive at first, because I'd read so much about how bloodthirsty shavettes are, but this one is easy to use, even for a clumsy guy like me!

Yes, I got better but do not use it much after getting the Feather AC which has a much better feel. I do use the DOVO still because I have it in my rotation. I put a new Personna blade in it and use it six or seven times until the blade does not perform well, then go to other straights or the feather.

I have the Feather DX.
It actually predates my straight razors a bit. I started off attempting shaves with it which turned out to be uncomfortable and scary at times. I put it away when I got my first real SR, for some reason the real deal was less intimidating.
I just picked up the Feather again today and it gave a nice, comfortable shave. The techniques I've learned from straight razor shaving helped with the Feather.
The other day I was thinking about trying out a Feather SS model just to see if I like it better- it is supposed to be more forgiving. Based on my nice shave this morning I might give that a pass.
Anyone own both?

Hey Mick, long time, as for the shavetts,I used one for a while, and it had a nice stainless handle with nice weight, the problem was the blades, the Gems cut up the face pretty much all the time, however if you could get Personna blades were really nice. None were as good as a good name brand straight but really gave a nice shave.

Shaved this morning with a Parker with rosewood scales and a Lord Super Chrome blade. Very nice when I do not feel like stropping. I find these mild blades perfect for the shavette.
