I think all the wax jackets are still made in South Shields, England but all other apperal including Barbour International are made elsewhere. Might be wrong though.

I used to be the manager of Milletts years ago and sold Barbour and John Patridge Jackets. Wax cotton doesn't come better than a Barbour.

Excellent find at an amazing price

I emailed back and forth with the Sarah from Cox the Saddler, I'd found a post that said all the waxed jackets were still made in England, was pumped for that lol - she replied:

"Sadly the post you found is inaccurate. Of all the waxed cotton jackets by Barbour only the Classic and Original Bedales and Beauforts are made in England and even these are not always so. We are now asking customers who want Made in England Bedales and Beauforts to specify this in the comments section at the time of ordering and to bear in mind that a made in England jacket will take longer to arrive."

So if you want one with the Made in England, made in the original factory, you have to request one. If I really, really liked the Bedale or Beaufort I'd grab one, but the Beacon and Lutz put the sparkle on my edge!

Gobsmacked at how nice they are....glad to finally own one. Having said that, the Beacon does not give me the James Bond Gravitas I'd hoped for....sigh!

Maybe not James Bond but any Barbour would fit in well with the Royal family on a shoot

Hahaha...was great to find the "game pockets" on the back of the Beacon, going to have to head to the grocery store and ask if they have any "bloodied Pheasants"...lol

Was walking in Windsor Great Park the other day and a couple of pheasant flew past. Might get in trouble if I took a shotgun along with me

Nice looking jackets. I have not owned a waxed one but have an oiled one. How is the lining? The main issue I have had is the small window of temperature that is comfortable.

Milne doesn't breath well when it is hot and doesn't insulate well when cold.

I could have gotten a larger one to wear another jacket under for the winter but then the water proof isn't a big deal.

Barbours have a Tartan cotton lining but you can get a warm liner that attaches to the inside.
