This Towa razor recently arrived from Japan. It's in good shape with very little hone wear. I honed and shaved with it last night. Finish stone was a Jnat. Now, I have to admit just how pleasantly surprised I was with the shave. I expected it to be good, but the edge felt soooo soft and smooth against the skin. I will unpin and give a thorough cleaning and a bit of buffing and polish to the steel. I must do some kanji research to hopefully find the type of steel used.

Nice frameback. I believe Towa use Swedish steel.

If it doesn't work for strops I could always smoke rope.

I would use a hammer to pound the hemp. Go for a hour minimum.
Then wash it two or three times.
Some would then take a diamond plate to it. I in ever saw need
    Good luck

I've made a few hemp strops and they are great for use with Cro Ox, Fe Ox etc
