    Pulled it from the mailbox on my way to work yesterday. Finally pulled the trigger & placed my first bids for wet shaving stuff! So very stoked! Worked twelve hours, so no time to play with the new pretties.

    Had time for a couple of pictures.

    Just a few of the fixer uppers that I grabbed. Got another eight not pictured. Not all are salvageable, sadly. But they were grouped .

    And all this for less than my first SR that I bought brand new .

    Just snagged this Rolls Razor off the 'bay. I have been on the lookout for one at a decent price for a little while. This one looks pretty good and comes with a spare blade. The concept intrigues me and it will be interesting to see if I can get it honed up and shaveable.

    I've already honed half a dozen razors on them and am very impressed with their performance. Definitely can't go wrong with these!

    Well 'IT' was in the mail but now 'IT's' here!

    The original handle for a wok that I'd purchased about 30+ years ago was cracked and while it would 'kind of' work the split was uncomfortable in the hand.

    I asked HARRRYWALLY if I supplied the wood if he could turn me a new handle. After figuring out the details it was a go.

    I sent him a block of African Blackwood with some sapwood included. We'd agreed that the reason that the original had split was from the design of the bolt that held it in place had dug into and eventually caused the wood to split so some kind of metal plug was needed to be in the end of the handle to prevent the new one from splitting.

    The New Handle matched the contour of the original handle but with the finish that was applied it was so smooth and silky feeling it was almost erotic.

    Here's some pics;

    This pic makes the sap wood look way too yellow.

    This is pretty close to how it actually looks and YES! The Black of the Blackwood really does look that Black!

    My only regret is that the opposite handle couldn't be done to match!

    My thanks to my friend for not only helping me out but for bringing an old cooking companion back to life! I've missed it :

    It was a fun project Roy. I love little projects like this on the lathe. Hope you enjoy it for many more years!

    Been eyeing this Wacker for some time, finally decided to pull the trigger on it:

    Yes i opened them and smelled them throughout the day. I also made a few co-workers take a whiff. I didn't convert anyone to SR shaving unfortunately, but i tried.
