They are the old gears, like you probably had on your first geared bikes well unless you had a sturmey archer 3 speed hub gear, they are really good on a town bike as they are almost no maintenance, and keep the bike lines pretty clean as all you have is a largish rear hub, and a gear cable, and no i dont wear lycra, that would just be disgusting.

Thanked: 49422 weeks into Physical Therapy for a partially torn R. biceps tendon. Who says honing ain't a rough sport!! I'll be back on the elliptical next week........I hope. Looks like very light dumb bell work for a while. I am amazed at the toll repetitive motion can do long term.

Thanked: 485Today I climbed this...
Haven't been climbing for a couple of weeks due to sore fingers. It's in a nice spot, a place boulderers have named 'Enchanted Forest'. Clearly named after 'Magic Wood' in Switzerland. The spot is in the Kaiser Stuhl national park, which is a very nice spot. Did a lot of walking looking for boulders...
I know it's not high, but the crash pad (mat) seemed very small, and I had no idea what was up to top to hold on to. I found a nice flaky bit but as i grabbed hold it made an ominous cracking noise, being at the point of no return I continued up; knowing it was too late to try and climb down, luckily it held and I found another nice hold further up out of sight to pull me up over the mantle...

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Impressive stuff, Carl!!
I did a semi-long run today.
Just about 17,5 Km or about 11 miles for those so inclined.
No stops and a time of 75 mins. Average puls was 79% of max.
Decent run, but I'll up the pace a tad tomorrowBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 485Well, yeah...
Today I went out again and did the one above, but this time as a 'sit start'. It was pretty cold this morning when I headed out so my fingers were cold, but I did it as a sit start (which is much harder than as a standing start) on the third attempt.
Then I 'wandered around a bit more with my crash pad looking for more rocks' and came across the one below. THIS one was a bugger, it had me swearing with finger tips bleeding through the climbing tape but in the end I sent it.
You can see the white chalk marks where my hand and foot holds were.
