This week I again took my bike in the car and parked about 11 ks from the bouldering club, rode to the club, did a two hour bouldering session and then rode back. Quite an easy ride part of the way there as it's downhill for some of it. Got overtaken by a guy on a bike with gears .

There's only so fast you can go on a single speed before you 'run out of peddles'. Coming back was pretty hard as the last part was uphill and I was tired from climbing.

Tomorrow's a public holiday (Australia day) so I'll probably go bouldering outside somewhere...

Rest day for me today, concentrating on eating the increased calories before the April "cut" happens. Yesterday intense leg workout, still sore, tomorrow biceps and triceps, and my new addition, close-grip chin-ups, was one of my goals, up to two set's of 5 now...hopefully for tomorrow's workout there will be some step classes to watch as I do my warm-down....grrrr....

I reckon close grip chin-ups are an excellent 'finisher' for a back/biceps workout. I have my hands about 3 or 4 inches apart, overhand grip. I tried some chinups the other day (I stopped doing them and weights workouts more than a year ago) and found I can still do 17, which I don't think is too bad for a 52 year old I'm really light though; only 67 kilos, so that makes it pretty easy for me...

    Didn't go for too strenuous a workout today. 30 minutes on the treadmill - 5 minutes at each 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 km/h followed by a kind of mini circuit: press ups (15, 20, 15), sit ups (15, 20, 15), wall sit (45, 60, 45 secs), burpees (10,15, 10)

Thanks - that's the way I do them....I'm 51, and at 107 kilos, they were always a challenge, so 10 was a goal...if I get lighter than 107 kilos (235lbs), if feel I lose all my strength, when I used to wrestle in University, 235-240 lbs I felt like a tank, I went down to 226 lbs for a tournament once, and got thrown around like the bag of dirt I truly am...

Looking good! I'm off to the gym in an hour or so...going to be practising some more chin ups, and starting a different regime today, more drop-sets at heavier weights and more exercises with the last set till exhaustion. Today my final drop-set of 4 reps on the bench press I will be breaking the 200lb barrier....
