I think Tc has been into the bourbon again.
BTW. Gonna really enjoy the maduro/Java in the morning. I can smell the cocoa, and coffee notes, it will definitely enhance the fresh ground Columbian in my cup O Joe. Mmmmm, can't wait till the wife's at work. Gotta get my wooden matches out, its the proper way.[emoji18]Mike

Only time will tell buddy. I've had swelling, then after it went down, I felt the pain more. Lets keep positive & hope for the best. I know my back is screwed & sometimes I feel something pop in there when it's hurting more.
Well, my buddy that's into straight razors too came over because he wanted one of those generators I had. I told him I'd give it to him for what I paid plus he had borrowed my Shapton base & 16k so he brought it back but his family was one of the ones that were under mandatory evacuation when Harvey hit. He was glad to get it plus I had room to put my 10k watt generator together. I had to put the axle, wheels, handles & stands on it. It's a heavy unit.
I had to use my big pry bar to pick it up on one end & slide some 2x4's under it to put the axle on, then pry'd up on it more to slide the wheels on & finish the other things.
Yeah, I was wondering if Tc had been reminiscing the '60's...........Last edited by engine46; 09-28-2017 at 12:46 AM.

Got the resto bug and decided to fix up this ERN Vanadium. Didn't take much, a little work with a box cutter to scrape the rust off the heel and bottom of the tang. I used a flap wheel and scotch brite pads on the dremel to push the stabilizer line up a little bit. Then did some hand sanding.
Scratchy blade.
This guy.
My humble bench.
800 grit through 2500, then some rubbing compound and metal polish.
Not perfect but the scratches are gone.
Tomorrow the stones. Feels good to get another one out of the box and into the Den.
Have a good night guys.

I back-slid!
I'm not buying razors but I just couldn't help myself. Picked up this C Mon Blackie from the B/S/T thread. The scales were warped to the point that they were touching on the bottom side and had a bit of a S shape. Not really bad but it gave me a good reason to take it apart and clean it. Straightened the scales with hot water and a few clamps between steal plates. Sanded the scales a touch to get rid of a few scratches and pinned with same color pins with stacked washers. Measures 11/16.
It was shave ready but after I did a little hand polishing on the blade I touched it up on the 12K stone. Much better now. Too bad the black has worn off and the diamond is not red any more. But all in all I'm happy with how it came out. I didn't have a C Mon in the collection. Its not fancy, but I now have one.
It's just Sharpening, right?
Jerry...
